Terms of Service

By accessing "www.systemshock.org" you agree to a contract between you and the operator with the following rules:

1. User contract

   a) By accessing "www.systemshock.org" (hereinafter "the forum"), you conclude a license agreement with the operator of the forum (hereinafter "operator") and agree to the following terms.
   b) If you do not agree with these terms, you may no longer use the forum. The terms published here apply to the use of the forum.
   c) The license agreement is concluded for an indefinite period and can be terminated by either side at any time without notice.


2. Granting of rights of use

   a) By creating a contribution, you give the operator a simple right to use and modify your contribution within the framework of the forum, which is unlimited in terms of time and place and free of charge.
   b) This right of use remains even after termination of the contract of use.


3. Obligations of the user

   a) By creating a contribution, you declare that it does not contain any content that violates applicable law. In particular, you declare that you have the right to set or use the links and images used in your contributions.
   b) The operator of the forum exercises domestic authority. In the event of violations of these terms of use or other rules published on the forum, the operator can temporarily or permanently exclude you from the use of this forum and issue you with a house ban.
   c) You acknowledge that the operator assumes no responsibility for the content of contributions that he has not created himself or that he has not taken note of. You allow the operator to delete or block your user account, contributions and functions at any time.
   d) You also allow the operator to change your contributions if they contravene the above, violate rules or are capable of causing damage to the operator or a third party.
   e) You agree not to use the forum and its functions for any form of advertising, spam, flooding and solicitations.


5. Warranty

   a) With the exception of injury to life, body and health and the violation of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), the operator is only liable for damage that can be attributed to wilful or grossly negligent behaviour. This also applies to indirect consequential damage such as loss of profit in particular.
   b) Liability towards consumers is limited to the damage typically foreseeable at the time of conclusion of the contract and otherwise to the amount typical of the contract-typical average damage, except in the case of wilful or grossly negligent behaviour or damage resulting from injury to life, body and health and the violation of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations). This also applies to indirect consequential damage such as loss of profit in particular.
   c) Liability towards entrepreneurs is limited to the damage typically foreseeable at the time of conclusion of the contract, apart from the injury to life, body and health or deliberate or grossly negligent behaviour on the part of the operator, and otherwise limited to the amount of the average damage typical for the contract. This also applies to indirect damages, especially loss of profit.
   d) The limitation of liability in paragraphs a) to c) also applies correspondingly to the benefit of the operator's employees and agents.
   e) Claims for liability arising from mandatory national law remain unaffected.


7. Subject to change

   a) The operator is entitled to change the terms of use and the privacy policy. If the user has registered an account on the forum, they will be informed of such changes on the forum.
   b) The user is allowed to object to the new changes. In the event of an objection, the contractual relationship between the operator and the user expires with immediate effect and the user may no longer use the forum.
   c) The changes are recognized and binding if the user has approved the changes, either explicitly or by continued use of the forum.

Privacy Policy

We are the operators and staff of "www.systemshock.org" (hereinafter "the forum"). We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

1. What data do we hold about you?
When you are browsing the forum we record your IP address.
If you register we will also ask you for a valid email address and a username. We advise you to choose a username which is not personally identifiable.
Further data may be collected if you choose to share it, such as if you fill out fields on your profile.

2. What do we do with this data?
We use it for the purposes of running the forum and managing your account. We may use your email address to inform you of activity on the forum.
We do not give your personal data to any third parties.

3. How long do we keep this data?
If you stop logging in to the forum your account will be deleted after 3 years of inactivity.
You will receive an email warning beforehand, that will allow you to prevent this in time.
In your profile's account settings you may disable this inactivity check, allowing us to retain your login data indefinitely.
Your recorded IP-addresses are deleted after a year.

4. How can you erase this data?
You have the right to request the erasure of your personal data.
You can request your account to be deleted from your profile. An administrator will have to confirm the deletion.

IP-addresses will be erased a year after your last visit. We may still need them in this time to exercise our right to ban you from using the forum.
Your postings and messages will not be erased. They are part of the contributions that you license to us (see the terms of service).

5. How can you change this data?
You can change your email address in your profile. We recommend to keep this address up-to-date in case you need to retrieve your password.
If you need to change your username please contact us (see 8.).

6. How can you access this data?
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you or obtain a copy of it. You can access and download this data from your profile.

7. How can you revoke this agreement?
You can request your account to be deleted from your profile (see 4.) and then stop using the forum.
Note that as long as you keep visiting the forum, the terms of service and this privacy policy still apply.
