That's what I was talking about, your ship is like an itty-bitty space-snail.  Until you manage to buy a new ship or a ton of engine upgrades, you'll be stuck having to hope you never run into an enemy without a planet available to land on.

Ampersand, what speed settings did you use?  Any recommendations?  It seems like on land everyone's running around like crazy but in space the ship goes real slow.

I played a little bit last night, I'm talking about a real little bit.  Basically I flew around for a few minutes, made a jump and visited another planet.  I think I might give it a full-fledged try pretty soon, enough at least so I know if it's something I'll be into.

I've played it.  It looks like it could be a really interesting game but I find myself outmaneuvered and outgunned by literally everyone.  On top of that, actually making the cash for an upgrade to your ship or engines is really a chore.

Just enough to stroll around planetside a bit and get into a minor spacefight. I'm still very busy dying in AliensRL.

Have you played this one, Koyla?  It looks pretty interesting.

Privateer ASCII Sector is based on the Wing Commander game Privateer.
It's rather unusual and quite complex for a roguelike as it combines elements of space combat, exploration and interstellar trading.

Be sure to get the music download too, it's pretty good.
