What was wrong with it in the first place?
Say, did DFB ever correct the assault rifle firing sounds so they don't cut out when you're firing full auto? I downloaded a version of this ages ago and had to fix it myself. Been using it ever since!

The Assault Rifle sound has been fixed by miracle.freak.

What was wrong with it in the first place? Are parts of this mod integrated in SCP Beta 4, or were weapon sounds also fixed/changed there?
Just checking out a few mods for a new play-through, and thinking about leaving out this one this time.

Mods that only change sounds, graphics or models will always work in multiplayer (although only for the person who has them installed of course).
Mods that have a gamesys file need to be installed on all clients. Check the tags of the mods to see what's in it.

Been playing online a bit (when it effing works!) but certain mods reeeeeally don't wanna go online, lol. And SS2MM is..... temperamental.... to say the least! Cheers :)

If you've never played through the game in single-player mode, this mod will format your hard drive and murder all those you hold dear. Otherwise, it will be fine.

Why do you ask?

Does this mod affect MP play? Thanks.

it gets rid of all other sounds for me, exept for logs, and e-mails

You didn't make your game mod-ready before installing the mod.  As such, the folder with the replacement files is fully overriding all default snd resources.

Use The SS2 Tool to make your game mod-ready before installing any mods.

Your problem is not related to this mod. It merely replaces a few sound files. There's no way it could mute other sounds.
Try setting the Positional Sound Bias slider in the audio options to the middle of the scale.

Good, put up the sounds and I'll replace them in the original mod.

Eh, good point, I had to fix it too. The sound of Assault Rifle can not exceed 600 miliseconds otherwise it would cause sound pauses while firing full auto. The armor piercing bullets have this issue I think. I had to cut sound exceeding 500 miliseconds and make a fadeout at the end of what's left.

I guess there's no fixed version of this anywhere so if anyone's interested I can upload it.

Hey, so whenever I try and download the mod I get an error just after I pass 1.58 megs on the download. I have been digging all over the internet for a copy, even finding a working torrent has failed. So, I ask could someone verify the link for the download, or send me a copy, or just simply advise me on the error which states:

"Internet Explorer cannot download ...edBeer_SoundUpgrade_V3.zip from www.systemshock.org.

Content Decoding has failed"
                                                                                      [OK]

Thank you for your help,

Love the Pistol sounds. Not very fond of the other weapon sounds, though...
I removed the other sounds from \snd\weapons, and just kept the pistol sounds.
