Nope, he absolutely does say "you have clearance for landing". There's no mistaking that final sibilant.

I have always heard that line as "You are cleared for landing", but listening closely, I think the voice actor literally says "you have cleared for landing", which seems like a mistake. The only context in which that line could make sense being spoken that way is as a response, like "hey, have I cleared for landing yet?" "Yes, you have cleared for landing". But even then, it sounds wrong.

He definitely doesn't say "you have clearance for landing".

I know subtitles are a bit fluid, but I would recommend using "You are cleared for landing" instead of "you have clearance for landing".

Updated to v5. Corrected typo in cutscene cs2.avi.

Line "Shuttle 8138, you have cleared for landing..." now "Shuttle 8138, you have clearance for landing...".

You will find the available fonts in SS2\Data\res\fonts.crf
CRF files are just renamed ZIP files.

At the bottom of my "cam_ext.cfg" I have...

subtitles_font_name mainaa

It works fine but is a little small for my viewing.  I tried as previously commented to change it to...

subtitles_font_name blueee

This breaks the subtitle mod all together.  I then tried this...

subtitles_font_name blueaa

This makes the subtitles huge.  Is there another code for something in between "mainaa and blueaa"?

no harm in copying over the sub settings, but do yourself a favor, discard the repack, and use the official mods with official tools on an official build of the game.

remember, each time you use a torrent repack, god kills a cute puppy.

Nevermind. I've just lurked again through torrent sites and found this repack on another tracker. Installed it and compared cam_ext.cfg's.
The problem was in a unneeded slash symbol near one comment. Now with these parameters:

enable_subtitles
subtitles_hide_types nonverbal+bark
subtitles_dim 20 80 86
subtitles_font_dir fonts
subtitles_font_name blueaa
subtitles_spacing 1

yeah, modpack authors.. our least favorite group of people.

hard to tell what exactly he did when he was butchering everything in, but maybe try BOLDAA.FON, or enable hud scaling to make the subs larger (enabled by default in the GOG/steam build, and by the tool).

The subtitles are just text files. They use the default UI font. If you don't like that font, that would be a graphical mod, and beyond the scope of this mod.

All I know is that guy used some unofficial game repack with preinstalled modpack, and this repack isn't around anymore along with the tracker, so no real clues how that was done. Yet I know for sure it's possible. Actually, I thought that it was your mod in there, and what I need is some right config comments for it to work.

The screenshots should've appeared in reverse order, I want subtitles with bold letters like on second one but do not know how to make them look like that. I've tried editing the config but subtitles either remain the same or turn into unreadable symbols. Maybe you as mod creator know how to make it work.

The large font is much more readable, but I don't know if it would still be so clear when it was scaled smaller to the screen. An option to chose the side of the text would be a good idea, probably.

With current mod state they appear with that font only in the "4 Years Earlier: Ramsey Recruitment Center." message at the very beginning.

You can do Ops and Recreation out of order. So those are not duplicate emails, they're mutually exclusive.

Okay, I've fixed the duplicate Many subtitles issue. It was an oversight due Irrational sticking several of the Many's audio triggers under the emails section.

Yeah, the subtitles are displayed at the same size as all the other interface text, so if you can't read the subtitles, you have a bigger problem.

Thanks a lot for this, man. Back when I played through SS2 the lack of subtitles made it a bit hard for me to get into the game (though I did manage to deal without). It's going to be a joy to replay this fantastic game with your mod.

- v2 corrects an issue with some subtitle lines appearing duplicated.
- v3 corrects some typos and improves SCP compatibility.
- v4 corrects a packaging error and fixes a couple more things.
- v5 corrects typo in cutscene cs2.avi.

Requires SS2 NewDark patch v2.43 or higher.

This contains complete subtitles for all AIs, ambient speech, cutscenes, devices, emails, status messages, training briefings, and voiceovers. It does not contain subtitles for logs.
