only legal copies of SS2 are officially supported.

that said, the patching did not complete because of connectivity/firewall/antivirus issue/interference. consider a GOG/steam purchase, and then try patching that. should that fail, you can update the GOG/steam version of the game manually to be mod ready, and we can help you with that.

Hey folks! I searched this forum and google for answers but no luck.
1-Got the base game from Archive.org, installed by copying the SHOCK folder only, and not on Program Files.
2- SS2Tool-v.6.1.1.8 is run succesfully (I think?) on Perfect Mode
3- I get this folder/file structure afterwards

4- There's no shock.exe or ss2.exe, so the game folder isn't detected by DDM, and thus I can't use mods at all!

I found this thread https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=10489.0 where someone seems to have gotten around it, but as I don't have the Steam version I don't think I can use this.
