Oh, I am. Your attempted asshatery makes me giggle.

May I ask what your issue is? Just three posts in and you already come off acting like that of a Black Mesa dev. I didn't realize the Shock community might potentially just be another FLAME THE NEW GUY forum intent on drawing away people that aren't regulars. Is it because I thought this mod was still alive?

Kid, when your second post includes the word "butthurt", you've already ceded the high ground.

"Kid"
What is this, Call Of Duty? Left 4 Dead?
What's next, are you going to tell me to "get on your level"? Are you going to ask me if I'm "mad, bro?" 5 times? And why is "kid" everybody's favorite word?

That was in response to "would not want to be in the guy's shoes" and "Keep trying".
Assume I didn't include the word "butthurt" in the post. Do you honestly believe you're going to be anyless like a Top Dog? I am the newcomer after all. Forget the comment, have you even looked at the first link and formed a constructive opinion? (I disliked the first one as much as Kolya appeared to and went and redid it.) Have you even looked at the second link and formed a constructive opinion?
With SHTUP being in v6-beta for five years I wouldn't be surprised that it's dead. I guess I'm just wasting my time here.

"welcome to the internet, son." Wish I knew what the rest of the internet had to do with this.

Oh well, I tried. This mod is dead.
Consider rename to Shock Texture OutOfDate Project

Xeno I'm sure you feel unfairly singled out right now but I urge you to use this opportunity to gauge your audience and hang in there.  If you can get past the awkward trial phase that many newcomers go through you'll find this forum quite hospitable and it will also provide you with an opportunity to see where your talents can be best applied.  Even if your modding skills need more work, plenty of time for that and there's a lot to learn by reading what others have done.  Try to enjoy yourself here :)

The rule around here is to talk less, listen more. Try it XenoSpyro, you'll like it.

Is this project dead already? I've done a few textures including the elevator shaft texture. That I can offer for this project.

You could submit your work to ZB to see if it can be incorporated into the mod.  Go here:

http://www.shtupmod.net/

and forward the work to his email posted there.

and prepare to be terminated with extreme prejudice if you did the texture in mspaint.

Honestly I don't mind to be criticized. Something is better than nothing and I don't have much experience with photoshop, just the basics. Here's the texture for the grav elevator. I'ts not the most accurate but it's kind of similar in terms of layout and colors:

I think the main difference is the "glass?" layer that the old texture has and this one lacks... I think that should be fairly easy to add.  I suck at PS too but I think if you find a glass texture, apply transparency to it and create a layer for it to superimpose on your texture, you can get that look that the original has without changing what you've already done.  Aside from that I think it looks pretty good.  Looks less like cables and more like girders but personally, I don't care about that.

SHTUP is (with a few minor exceptions) an object texture mod, not a terrain texture mod. The grav shaft walls are terrain.

Hey sorry about that Zylon. I didn't read the quote in the first post. In any case the Texture is still available for whoever want to use it. I added the glass effect and looks much better now.

Talk to ACC.  He's doing the four hundred mod.  Those are all terrain, I think.

Also, SHTUP's motto is "The same but better." Your texture is better, but not the same. The ideal SHTUP texture is one that looks like it could have been the high-res original that was scaled down for the shipping game.

Yep I agree with your point. I made a better version, you can see it in the 400 hundred thread it's a bit more similar to the original but yet not the same. I think ACC is doing a better job already hope he releases another version soon.

Hello!

Using a disc version of SS2. Played a couple of years ago, using SHTUP and a few other mods, worked perfic.

Just reinstalled on a different machine. Installed as per userguide, used SS2Tool 4.8. Played training level, functions fine. Installed SHTUP in DataPermMods. Played training level, do not notice any new/high-res textures (paying attention to things I know have upgrades, like the big screens and the doors and pipes). When reaching the training ships, several textures are missing, only have black meshes (doors, pipes, some other bits).

Is this a mistake on my end? Have only modded config to add bloom. Have noticed problems using other mods but since this one is nigh-essential thought it would be best to check for this one first. Thank you.

Hm.

Have removed the mod, then reinstalled it (again) and it works fine. Can see the fancy schmancy textures.

What's more, the other mod I was having problems with (ADOABABOABAB) is working fine as well, no more missing textures there either. Clearly I am going insane.

(Unless: does anyone know if having a save on the game from before you installed the mod would affect the mod functioning? Because it seemed to start working again after I saved over that save.)
