Dear god, he searched that corpse in the starting room at least four times and never took the wrench.

I'd really like to have SCP somehow mock players who get out of that room the hard way, but I haven't been able to think of anything good.

The hybrids and their pipes are separate objects now, right? Maybe give one a wrench instead, along with a primal and unbridled hatred towards all destructible wall decorations while in sight of the player.

Why would you think that?
Because I vaguely remembered the X-mas mod, which transmutes lead into sugar, and then just assumed this silly thing would not exist if you had to go to such lengths as to modify all the models directly and repackage everything. And I was also under the impression that SCP is required for it to work for this reason, which it apparently is not, so nevermind.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
