New Atlanta, is a System Shock 1 mod that is currently in development.

Explore New Atlanta in an open world hub area and see what secrets the buildings uncover.

Story: Set in an alternate timeline where SHODAN wins the events of SS1.

As of right now you play as the hacker though I might change this IDK for sure

I had considered making it a prequel or sequel to SS1 but it wouldn't make sense for any mutants or cyborgs to be everywhere with no humans around so I changed it to this which I think is potentially more interesting

Planned levels (so far):

New Atlanta: Sector 11 (Hub)
New Atlanta: Infected and Destroyed (Possible hub or level)
Rooftops
TriOp Tower
TriOp Blacksite
Tetracorp HQ
Government Capitol
Hospital
Mall/Resort
SHODAN's Domain
etc

More may come but that is what is planned rn

Levels I am considering but not sure of yet:
Sewers
Factory
Bank
Etc

Was gonna make stuff like Tetracorp its own mod but decided to go ahead and combine it into here

This mod is in early development and still a work in progress, there is no demo or early release build yet (outside of project files) but once there is I will share it, I don't work on this mod all the time so don't expect constant updates, and there is no set release date as of right now.

I would like to add custom assets but for now am working with what the game has by default

I am open to new ideas and feedback.

Can a mod move this to SS1 General or is a file required first?

SS1 General is part of the File Archives section and a usable resource is indeed required.
Until then this thread is at the right place.

yes, mod/files subforums are primarily meant for actual downloads/releases, and a bit of of technical support if necessary. dev stuff and planned releases go to Engineering.

not enforced strictly, but lets try to keep things as neat as possible.

Update: I do plan on getting a demo out of this eventually

I work on projects off and on/in bursts, so I will spent time on something and then not touch it for awhile before returning to it, so while IDK when I will get to it, I do still plan on working on it.
