The stuttering and the texture issues were there.

Understood. Still the missing monitor textures in your first shot aren't an issue with this mod. As your second shot shows they're there and work. It's hard to tell now what had went wrong the first time. Glad you got it sorted out anyway. You gained +1 Cyber Affinity.

Kolya you should give members cyber modules for solving fuck-ups that others bring to us.  If you earn 100 you can upgrade to +$5 or +Fries with your next Harveys meal or +50 backlinks to your website :P

aanyway, realized that now when we have NewDark, there is no reason why the SHEMP textures shouldn't be used on objects as well - hacked together a tiny mod that will replace the obj screens on medsci with their hires SHEMP equivalents. meant as an addon to ADAOB, but will work without it, just drop the archive content to the DataPermMods folder.

The SHTUP versions of those screens are the same resolution as the SHEMP versions. The difference is the frame count and frame rate.

Remember that most (all?) texture upgrades will be stripped out of the NewDark incarnation of this patch, since we now have the ability to upgrade terrain texture resolution without having to modify the MIS files.

yeah, I was just tinkering around a bit, and thought it never hurts to upload everything usable to have a spare copy. hdd accidents happen you know. as for the SHTUP screen textures, they don't look too updated to me (see the left one), but maybe I'm just spoiled by all the latest hires stuff.

Out of curiosity, are there any plans to rebake the lighting to match the quality present in the 2.4 demo? The notes mentioned adding support for 32-bit lightmaps in DromED and I'm assuming they redid the lighting as an example as it looks deliciously smooth. Try looking at the blinking red wall light just left of the door where you meet your first ghost vision within the demo for instance.

As a side note, I too notice a significant visual improvement with the displays when using Voodoo47's files. It seems SHTUP and ADaoB 0.3.0 currently do not include any files that alter them.

the answer would be - yes, there are (long term) plans to do that (among many other things).

I am not sure if this a "new" bug but will aDaoB fix the trainbug at the start of the game. Player can jump on the top of the train and then fall down behind the train. There is no sense why somebody wants to do that, but I did..   There is no way to get out of there...

Could be beause of the new mantling in NewDark. But you could get there before by run-jumping across the railing. Anyway, it's not a very serious bug if you have to do something stupid intentionally first.

Good thing about this bug is that it is very beginning. You can always start a new game. But if this bug happened later of the game it would be annoying if you don't save often.

Been some time since the last time I played SS2, decide to replay it.

"Anomalies, Discrepancies and outright Bugs" This looks like an awesome mod! let's see what it does... "It fixes and rebalances a huge number of anomalies, discrepancies and bugs" well that doesnt say much, does it?

unsummarized 61652 word long changelog, not gonna read that, lemme check those links.
184 and 552 post long threads

Lets just give it a go, I said

Made a fresh install, installed mods in correct order, started a new game.
As I progress in-game stuttering (loading pauses?) becomes noticeable and I'm missing some textures, eventualy the game looks like this:
http://i49.tinypic.com/mmzo7n.jpg

remove just this mod, now game runs perfectly fine and looks gorgeous:
http://i47.tinypic.com/29ne1e1.jpg

Proceed to finish the game.

Rating: 0/10 would not install again or recommend to anyone

This is caused by a glitch with another mod btw...
who ever wrote this is another magical child of diarrhea.

We already established that this problem wasn't due to ADaoB. If you have more information what caused it, that's cool, but keep it civil please.

note: there is a new shiny version of ADaoB currently in developement, it will include a ton of map and gameplay fixes, and also take advantage of NewDark's capabilities (such as 32bit lightmaps). follow this topic for updates (and hopefully, the first beta).

Didn't know that. So someone finally contacted NV and gotall the fixes done in the meantime?

I've been mentioning it over at ttlg, somewhere - the work on the fixes is underway.

the changes are big so maybe the bugfix mod will be renamed to something else, as ADAOB seems to confuse many users.

Okay, so bugfixes, relit levels ... will you/Kolya/??? include the SHEMP textures for the remaining stripped levels?

SHEMP textures will be removed and made available as an optional standalone mod, a la SHTUP. The only reason they were ever included in ADaOB was because the vanilla Dark Engine has no way of dropping in higher-res replacement terrain textures-- they have to be edited directly into the maps. NewDark, however, does allow dropping in higher-res terrain textures (via the material files). This means that now all maps, both stripped and unstripped, will be able to benefit from the upgraded textures. So things are looking good in that department.

Hey, I had a question for Zylon and crew - I know it will probably take some time before you know for sure, but does it look like this mod compatible with the new GOG re-release of System Shock 2?

yes, but you will have to use the latest ss2tool before applying the mod.

I hope this question was not already asked a zylon times - is there an ETA for this "new shiny version of ADaoB"? Weeks, months, years?

OK, just read voodoo47's reply on GoG forum:
I would like to say "wip beta in a few days", but it's not really my call. hopefully, I'll be able to announce an approximate release date later today, or tomorrow.

This may be a stupid question, but i cant seem to find the answer anywhere.

Should I install the ADaoB mod if i already have the SHTUP, new dark, and taticool weapon mods installed??  will it cause compatibility issues?
