I relit the original missions (so not the ADAOB enhanced ones) and there are points at which the new lighting looks... unfortunate with the shortcuts that were taken in level design. In particular the chapel in rick2 looks very odd as none of the fluorescent lights there are proper lighting objects and the new render makes this very, very obvious- though in the vast majority of places the relighting certainly is an improvement.

So those textures need to be changed? Anything special I have to keep in mind when using the editor for relighting?

Thanks for the link. Hm...I hate decisions (32bit vs 2x) :) Just to be sure (I don't wanna spent time on sth I can't finish...Universitys calling again): ALL textures and levels are editable now with 2.4?

use unstripped ones if you can, but all can be relit. you will have to do reconstruct_lights (type into the command window and hit enter) for the stripped ones before relighting though.

as for 32 vs 32x2, just try them both and decide which looks better for you, potential issues will be ironed out later.

This is awesome, finally we can mess with the lighting and terrain textures in stripped missions!

Can someone merge this with the impossible multiplayer mod? (or tell me what edits I have to make in order to achieve the same result)

you would have to merge the gamesys files, this isn't exactly trivial.

I downloaded ShockEd and noticed you can change difficulty values easily. Would loading ADAOB's gamesys in ShockEd, then messing with its difficulty values, and saving it work?
Re: SS2 Straylight ADaoB v0.3.0

The difficulty settings you found in shocked are most likely for single player. As mentioned in the MP guide, the difficulty for multiplayer is separate from the normal difficulty settings and hard coded. So it's not a single difficulty setting in the gamesys but a bunch of settings that make a multiplayer game harder, like number of cybernetic modules, loot, replicator prices and so on.

I don't know if I am wrong, but loading Crion's impossible MP into ShockEd shows the "MP difficulty" values modified (to match the impossible difficulty values). If I load the default SS2 gamesys, the values match the hard difficulty values.

If everything Crion did was modify those parameters to match the impossible values, then doing the same on ADOAB should work, I guess.

Worth a shot. I haven't looked at the values myself, just remembering some conversations I had with NV about this a long time ago.

Hi. Is there a way to post the Shemp textures alone? I'm having trouble finding this particular mod.

not sure what do you mean, but the download is in the first post of this topic.

the textures alone would do you no good, you have to be a skilled modder to actually implement them ingame.

The link says: File not found. I'm desperate for this mod and I can't find any mirrors either.

Re: SS2 Straylight ADaoB v0.3.0

thanks voodoo. I was looking for the file alone. Since adaob seems to be incompatible with other mods I like. It's kind of tedious to apply mods to this game, at least for those who are not too tech savvy like me. It would be nice to have some of these mods in one single system like SSTool that you could check in to include in your copy.

Been some time since the last time I played SS2, decide to replay it.

"Anomalies, Discrepancies and outright Bugs" This looks like an awesome mod! let's see what it does... "It fixes and rebalances a huge number of anomalies, discrepancies and bugs" well that doesnt say much, does it?

unsummarized 61652 word long changelog, not gonna read that, lemme check those links.
184 and 552 post long threads

Lets just give it a go, I said

Made a fresh install, installed mods in correct order, started a new game.
As I progress in-game stuttering (loading pauses?) becomes noticeable and I'm missing some textures, eventualy the game looks like this:
http://i49.tinypic.com/mmzo7n.jpg

remove just this mod, now game runs perfectly fine and looks gorgeous:
http://i47.tinypic.com/29ne1e1.jpg

Proceed to finish the game.

Rating: 0/10 would not install again or recommend to anyone

Re: SS2 Straylight ADaoB v0.3.0

seems like someone does not know how to ask for help when he is not capable enough to manage the mods himself (and I have a hunch that you did not use ss2tool to install the game, and that probably means your game install is screwed up as well). well, it's your loss.

btw, hate to burst your bubble, but on the second screenshot, ADAOB is definitely loaded.

Yup, high res monitor textures are a giveaway.
Would not use CritBot again or recommend to anyone. :D

More likely plain old ignorance paired with some hubris. This info is too vague, that is too exhaustive. We're not trying to be mean here CritBot and it's not like ADaoB had no bugs, but this wasn't one of them and you earned some ribbing for the way you went about it.
Don't let it spoil your fun with the game though. After all it looks like you played with ADaoB and liked it. ;)

Yup, just some little trolling at the end, the last rating was a giveaway.
4/10 + instant replies, + mild personal attacks, - prematurely spotted

remove the last sentence and it becomes a legitimate issue spoting complaint post.
The stuttering and the texture issues were there.
A summary of the changelog is not.

ss2tool was used, help wasnt really needed, I managed to install all mods manually and make them work together (second screenshot). Thing is, at some point I actually uninstalled this very mod and it was the source of the problem but... I couldnt play without it (not literally or technically but pragmatically and emotionally)
Awesome mod by Straylight and everyone that helped (though I might be unaware of some changes) 10/10 wouldnt travel to outer space without it
