What BummerII probably meant but wrongly posted in relation to Cyberblutch's models that he would like to see more thrilling and creepy models as Cyberblutch's are infamous for being nice and cute. For this issue I think Arcaniac's models are quite fitting patch. So BummerII I suggest you look there and don't expect this mod will evolve further as it's pretty considered FINAL (not dead).

No, Rebirth is dead, not final. Cyberblutch stopped work on Rebirth when he was hired by Arkane. The only reason we even have the rumbler model is because a beta version of it was included in a Thief fan mission, and the monkeys were released in an explicit alpha state, not even completely textured.

Also,  you think Rebirth is infamous for being "nice and cute"? What? He added claws and fangs to every model he laid his hands on.

well yeah, I agree that especially the hybrid model would benefit from a new, scarier texture (similar to the "face off" look found on the original model). unfortunately, I'm extremely useless with photoshop.

Also the reaver brains (reaver respawn things) were not remodeled. And what about all the robots, not sure? Anyhow this mod is a must-have regardless, mainly because of the Rumblers.

I have just realized that the latest Rebirth needs earth.mis from ADAOB to work properly. I'm attaching a proper earth.mis (from ADAOB 0.2.9) to the first post for all those who want to use Rebirth without issues, but do not wish to install the latest ADAOB for whatever reason.

What happens without the MIS? It's not a crash issue I guess, just the living NPCs on earth presumably?

there is a bug in the original map - the npcs are actually using corpse models (they are basically living dead). while this is not an issue with the old models, things get freaky when Rebirth is loaded. the mis file from ADAOB corrects this, and allows Rebirth to load the proper models.

Right on! Just got around to doing a fresh install of System Shock 2. And though I have used Shock Texture Update Project and an earlier version of Rebirth, I just discovered the SS2tool and SS2 Mod Manager. Going to try out some of these excellent looking mods. Nice work modders, small donation made.

I love this mod, but here I have some important notes that may need to be consider if there's anyone who'll keep updating and improving this mod:

- The hybrids are very detailed and look great, but their faces are far from scary. I use ImpyNicker's head skin to make them quite more terrifying, but this model does not affect the grenade hybrid.

- The dead crew members are nice and detailed, but their faces should be more messed up, to add the feeling that they died in a horrible way. Men's faces just look surprised instead of showing terror.

- You should definately create at least three new models for living humans, so that Watts, Cortez and the people on earth don't look the same.

- I would love to see a rebirth model for captain Diego when he's dead on the floor, after he freed himself from the many.

Apart from all this, this mod is spectacular, specially the oldschool midwife skin (that was pure genius, very scary). Great work!

PD: Does this mod have replacement skins for the PSI reavers and spiders? I've never played the game without this mod so I have no idea.

Is the Earth.7z needed to replace the earth creatures texture's? or is that simply for compatibility?

it's needed to replace the AI models, so they wouldn't appear as living corpses.

I meant mostly the skin; the large boobs may still be there, but don't draw much attention when they're grey and sickly and covered in blood

I would preferably like to retain the beta 02 changes, but just drop in the old midwife, and was wondering if anybody could point me in the direction of which files to copy from the beta 01.
