Some time ago, a player asked me to add the marines from Infinite to the SCP and I did. As I was editing Medsci1, I noticed a detail: when you leave the door from the very first room and continue in the decompression event, there's a potted plant in a corner.

Who of you added it? :D

I decided to play the first beta. I downloaded twice but bmm says its unrecognized. I activate and play...no changes. What am I doing wrong?

you probably have an extra folder somewhere. needs to be BMM\SCP\(lots of files and folders from the archive).

It was my fault. I feel stupid. I have the zip file in there. I forgot to unpack it....lol This is the only mod manager that I have ever used that requires you to unzip the file for it. Sorry for the trouble. Can't wait for beta 2.

Hi. I'm new to system shock and recently started my walkthrough, so here is two questions:
1. how soon a new version of the patch will be available?
2. do I'll need to start a new game or I may continue that I'm already started when  a new version will come out? if not, is it worth to wait for a patch or I can just play the game withot worrying about bugs etc? thanks

sorry for bad English

1. soon..ish.
2. you will need to start a new game.

don't wait, play now, and then play again once the new version is out.

Does the SCP address spawning bugs?

I am one of those "no respawn" guys, but upon consideration, I think I hate the idea of it more than the actual execution in this case, and I'd be willing to try the game as intended. Only problem is that my one experience with that must have bugged out, for I was assaulted by an endless horde of Hybrids as if there was an alarm, only there wasn't. SS2's alarms are the most obvious and hard to miss in any game I've played, so I could hardly be more sure.

Just wanted to know if the SCP will protect me from such happening again.

there were two instances where the ecologies were slightly broken, but those were corrected.

as for non-alert endless hordes of enemies, pics+saves or it didn't happen.

That rare, huh? I guess there is little hope that the SCP fixes it then. But on the other hand, hopefully it won't happen again in the first place.

Good.

We pretty much assume that people will describe having to deal with more than one enemy a minute as an endless horde.

good idea, actually - describe what an endless horde is.

thx for the great work. will be playing this very soon, hopefully with beta2 out by then :)

Any particular reason eldron's psi amp is not in the recommended mod list?

Endless horde = Enough hybrids in a row coming through a corridor to make me want to reload due to the sheer ammo loss involved in taking them down, followed by even more until I was sure it could only be caused by respawning.

Re: Re: SS2 Community Patch (SCP) Beta 1

how much is enough - three? five? ten?

anyway, a save would be needed to be able to tell what happened there, so unless you've got one, there is no way of telling whether this was a rare bug, a one in a million coincidence of all the hybrids from the level meeting at one spot, an alarm you did not notice or whatever.

Closer to ten, if anything.

I don't really need to convince anyone. I just need to know it won't happen again without me having triggered an alarm. Hell, based on Let's Play's I've seen, I'd need to stand in front of the camera while killing them for even an alarm to produce such numbers.

Re: Re: SS2 Community Patch (SCP) Beta 1

we don't deal in fortune telling - all I can say there is no reason for such thing to happen, as no ecology is set up to allow that.

also, 20K downloads on the (secondary) systemshock.org mirror (no way of tracking how much people have downloaded from the google drive mirror, unfortunately). I'd say the first SCP release was a success.

I suspect that the first couple of ND releases have re-established a pacing for this game's growth in the community so they're on the lookout for SCP now.

That's me, patiently and silently following progress. Very excited.
