^ this error comes up if a portal somwhere else on the map is on the same plane as the portal that causes the error. The portals (even tho they can be great distances away from each other) look into each other and try to draw the poly edges over a great distance. But they are unable because they cant look into each other even tho they are trying so hard. This causes the error. Good luck finding the wrong brush and delte / move it around. Since dromed (or in this case shocked) doesn't tell you what brushes cause this error.

Another way to avoid this error is to place clean brushes and don't go too crazy with brush shapes and sizes.
