Hi, i've just got system shock 2 after getting the demo off the internet, The demo worked fine, but when I installed system shock 2 (The REAL one, not some one off a torrent) I could go on the game menu's fine, it's just when I want to start a game. It's just keeps getting stuck. I have to press control+alt+delete and end it that way. Would anyone know what is up with it. I meet all the specs it says it need. I have Windows XP if you want to know.

BTW i've made it mod ready, i've downloaded the latest patch and i've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I also deleted the demo

Checked the Bug Fixes section of the SS2 Tool?

For more tips we'd need some specs, mainly processor and grafics card.

What does "it doesn't work" and "it keeps getting stuck" mean exactly? Can you describe what happens?

Yeah sure. When I click on new game and can select my difficulty and all that, then I can watch the intro movie, but then my screen has a spaz and just shows a black screen and i have to go on task manager to end it and then it goes back on my desktop

That sounds very much like the Texture Memory bug (first fix in the bug section of the SS2 Tool). Now check this:
Open the file cam.cfg in a text editor. Make sure there's a line "safe_texture_manager" in there. If not add it at the bottom plus one empty line after it.
Save and restart the game.
