yes that was just to ilustrate here.

searching the word "reave" on cambridge dictionary doesnt show anything at all (a friend that is an english teacher said that this is a good site to search the words)
searching on google translate it shows

reavivar = revive
arruinar = ruin
destruir =destroy
assolar = ravage
pilhar = loot
saquear = plunder

as the monster doesn't steal anything from you, just the health so maybe ruiner or destroyer is better? the spanish was translated to "segador" (grim reaper) same as in the italian translation "mietitore" (reaper) what do you think?

of course I am translating other things in the meantime.

You should respect the original names.
They may be meaningful although it is not apparent from game mechanics.
Maybe the psi reaver does steal your psi abilities in more longer contact. Perhaps after it kills you it injects those tentacles into you and sucks your brain from anything related to psi powers.

I would go with something along the lines of tearing, rupturing, or ripping.  Whichever sounds the most menacing in your language.

Also, psi reaver is a throwback to the cortex reaver in System Shock 1.  The cortex reaver literally rips into your brain (cortex) turning you into a cyborg while the psi reaver uses psi powers to rip you apart.

Assignment would work.  'Posting' has the idea of being stationed at a military outpost or station or base.  Not sure if there is a way you can give that idea in one word.

I would probably look into military language what it's called in portugese to be stationed somewhere for a set amount of time.
Like, going to another location for a mission.

yes, the sergeant is female, and there is a warning about her being not very kind.

I have to say I agree with ZB here, if you are asking these questions, you probably shouldn't be doing this as an one-man project.

after finishing the translation I will make a video about it and ask if someone thinks that something can be translated better, he/she can change and then send to me. I am not sure if people will actually care about playing with the translation or not but we'll see.

Because it is an old game and don't think that a lot of people still play this game.

I agree with you and ZB about not translating alone but I am not very goot at group projects of course after translating I will ask other people to revise my translation and see what is wrong. because i know that a lot of things can be changed/ improved.

hello, I have a problem and don't know if is actually a problem or I am doing something wrong.

first of all the save I am using to test the translation is in deck 5 right now I just actiavted the transmitter (code 14106)

some notes are not appearing

(Maybe because I have passed this part and this is why it doesn't appear)

(Maybe because I hacked the door instead of using the code. Normally this is what I do to open this door)

(the note only appears when I use the code to open the door but how am I supossed to get the code if the game only gives the note when I enter this room)
(I explored all the deck 4 and maybe I missed something)

(looks like this note appears after activating the transmitter but still not appear)
another time the game had a bug where this note was appearing but with the square marked and without any words at all


for now this notes are not appearing in the game. I hope I can see at least once if that is the case to check if the translation fits the space where the text are.

your install needs to be patched with SS2tool (or you have to be running the latest GOG/steam build) and you have to be using the game exe (not the editor).
