Cannot start the game

Hello.

I installed the game, HOTU version, used SS2 tool, with everything on (mod ready, bug fixes...)
Installed SS2 mod manager, added some mods like rebirth.

I cannot get the game to work : I can launch it fine and acces the menu but once I click new game by either single or multiplayer it justs quits back to the desktop.

I've tried with every mod desactivated, it's the same.
I do have safe_texture_manager in the cam.cfg

My pc is 1gb of ram, 2.2 ghz Dual core, ATI x1950 pro
Pc is clean and everything working, up to date drivers.

If someone would be so kind to help me on this, it would be great...

EDIT : I Installed the latest divx codecs.

Try renaming the file LGVID.AX (eg to LGVID.AX.BAK).

BTW, there is an explicit procedure for the HOTU version in the SS2 Tool thread.

Click Intro in menu to see if it really is a codec problem. If it crashes you'll have to do something about your codecs

Thanks guys However I can't seem to be able to see vids now, but it's not really important I guess

The videos are important for the story. You can probably watch them outside the game if you can't get them to work. See the video guide I linked above for details.
