Presumably only if you are a thin-blood, since in the first game (where you are a 13th generation vampire), your sire is dead from the start.

I can recall a few 80s vampire movies where that was a rule. The Lost Boys had that for example. Though that had an additional rule in there (if I remember right), where the sire had to be killed within a certain time frame, and they had to not have fed on anyone. Otherwise they'd be a full vampire from then on.

I'm not sure if the Bram Stoker books or Anne Rice's books had that. I know that Interview with the Vampire definitely did not have that. Buffy and Angel didn't either.

Vampire: The Masquerade is part of White Wolf’s “World of Darkness” RPG setting, where werewolves and other monsters live among us. Bloodlines II is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2020, and it’s a continuation of the excellent 2004 cult-classic from the defunct Troika Games.

Release date: Q1/2020

I see a major, major conflict with the release of Cyberpunk 2077 (April 2020) arising. If I were responsible for coordinating that release, I'd seriously consider holding back until the end of that year (and use that extra time for polishing).

By the looks of both games (and the celebrities involved in CP2077) I'd wager that CDPR spent a bit more money on their game than Paradox and are more likely to steal their thunder than vice versa.
