considering that both GOG and steam use 2.48 in their main builds now, it's 2.48, most likely - though there is no immediate way of telling, unfortunately.

That reminds me, that miscolored sign above the PSI training booth can be fixed with a single MTL file (the texture uses its own optimized palette instead of its FAM palette). I'd recommend doing so for the baseline distro.

not a MTL expert by any stretch of the imagination, but if you drop the code, I'll get it into the next GOG/steam update, no problem.
