Hi, hi! I've ran through the whole archive and I found more MB's of mods than the game itself has :thumbwink:. However, there are so, so, SO many mods that I can't distinguish which are good to go. Hence, I hereby ask other shockers:

What mods would you guys suggest for someone that wants a new experience with SS2? I mean textures, sounds, models and gameplay.

Thanks for the attention!

The mods that are generally approved and safe to use (without changing gameplay too much) are stickied in the modifications forum.
For a complete newbie I'd suggest only SHTUP though. Also this might be interesting.

Damn that title ... sorry for that. I didn't meant noob in modding and/or ss2 (I actually work in SHTUP as well). I mean't newbie as in which mods are hot among the shockers. :)

PS.: You see? That's what happens when you don't practice your english (I'm from brazil).

NP, it's not explained anywhere but I stickied the mods that I have come to see as meeting above criteria. Then there have been literally hundreds of threads on ttlg (and some here) of what would be a perfect match for a new experience. As you can imagine these differ largely in taste and time.

Basically I would like to encourage people to try things out, as that's the only sure fired way.

OK. I'll give each one a look. But again, what would be suggested?
6750aadfb02cf
Well what kind of experience are you after?
How should it differ from the original game?

Still following the original plot, but with new tex, new sounds, and new models. Maybe, in a near future, I may try the difficulty mod.
Thanks.

PS.: I think I'll just dl 'em all and try 'em one by one until I find a combination I like.

I like the Deep Fried Beer weapon sounds replacement. It's a big improvement over the default weapon sounds, IMHO.

I like the Assidragon sound replacement, myself.
Which is why you can't really have any single list of suggestions. ;)

Well, I won't be able to try anyone of them for I can't download SS2 ModManager (I can't open 7z) and I can' open your tool (I can't dl from Megaupload, FFront doesn't have a free server when I try, and I can't dl directly from the website)

7z is a free packing format, see 7zip. You can also open it with winrar.
Try using another browser if downloading from us fails.

PS.: Sorry for asking lots of questions

Ty. But I can't seem to dl ANY file from ffront. Neither from MU without having to dl the toolbar. And I get no seeds on the torrents.
I really wanted adaob. That's the kind of mod I was looking for.

Patience. You need it.

Gr8. I got lots of mods, and was almost ready to play the new ss2 :D
However, I don't know what mod did that, but if I rebind ctrl to hold crouch (yes, i'm a half-lifer :) ) I'm no longer able to select items on inventory mode. Everywhere I click I fire my weapon. Worse than that, I actually fire, without rotating my view, to where I click, like, if I click in the very first slot on the inv, I shoot upward-left. o.O
EDIT. It's adaob. What should I do?

That's a common problem. It's not caused by a mod but by changing the key binds.

In that post, it says to check in the tools menu, but in the current version (110-0042) the tools menu has only Browse Mods, Clean Up, Uninstall and Restore Backups

Are you sure that you have right version of manager installed?

Check attached pictures to see difference between earlier 0.0.3.9-version and latest 0.0.4.2-version.

Oops... Just checked now. I get a CTD when using the latest version, so I dl the previous one. Sorry. Anyways, I just edited the *.bnd files. Much easier. Thanks.
