Trailers always look action-oriented, though.
Because slowly walking down a corridor doesn't tend to make an exciting trailer, especially if it's only meant to be a very short teaser trailer.

The rights have been sold off to Tencent and I doubt that this is actually going anywhere in the next few years. Too bad because I kinda liked the last teaser before the studio fell apart.

I want to shit on them, call them sellouts e.g Underworld Ascendant, but we shouldn't be surprised (everyone already soldout way back in the 2000s. Integrity lol), and too much goodwill is garnered from giving us Underworld/Shock/Thief/Deus Ex etc.

Wait, SS3 is a thing that exists (at least, as a project)?
I thought the franchise was long gone, to the point I wasn't disappointed there'd be no sequel, because it'd be like waiting for a sequel to Total Annihilation or any other ancient franchise.

There were plans for a 3rd  sequel but the company that was going to make it (Otherside Entertainment) first created a badly received Underworld sequel, then lost most of their employees and eventually sold the rights to System Shock 3 to Tencent in May 2020. Nothing has been heard since.

Considering their previous game and the trailers they produced for SS3 this end to their plans was probably for the best.

In the book 2001 A Space Odessey, and maybe the movie, it turned out that they had 2 HAL-9000 units, in typical NASA fashion of the time, the idea was that by building 2 identical AI's, they could find faults in the memory/code by looking for discrepancies between the behavior of two units asked to do the same thing. So it could be a SHODAN clone, perhaps a trial run for CITADEL station release, or just general non-ethical AI experiments that are conducted in a remote location, in a safe way.. it could also be about radical activists that are disappointed by the response to the CITADEL disaster and lack learning that occurred with the incident, so they are looking to hurt Trioptimum in another location.

According to wikipedia, there are also "HAL 10000 and 2 x Ground based HAL 9000 used by Mission Control"

Also, it might be possible.. to 'teleport' shodan.

A program that is alive basically fills the requirement for lightspeed travel, that is if the memory is beamed to an identical memory bank, it might be possible that SHODAN has several bodies, after a file transfer/synchronization, where shodan is running effectively on two computers at the same time, with a huge time delay (speed of light to jupiter, if there is no FLT communication yet).

So its possible SHODAN is built some where, then over the course of several months after testing they slowly transfer her to another system.

I suspect it would feel to shodan that she was on drugs or possibly just experiencing things in severe time dilation when it comes to completing thoughts/processes when she is in the middle of a file transfer. Might be responsible for some anger during 'birth' or 'transfer' I think, imagine if your brain is a circuit, suddenly when you want to do something like use your short term memory to remember where you placed something, you would get memory of that places storage 43 minutes later, or maybe just total amnesia after a transfer (some loss of memory), but with processes in place that are referencing to the missing information, resulting in psychological issues... or like suddenly being a toddler in an adult body with adult responsibilities. I figure something needs to be behind all that anger.

Between the rickenbacker and von braun it was smooth, but from tau ceti v to the von braun, from the sounds of things, she was really fucked up for a while, during system expansion.

I am not sure, I imagine shodan is a quantum system requiring entangled transfer, looks like plenty of cryogenics goes into that core.. how that problem ends up rationally manifesting itself to conventional understanding, I am not sure.
