Can anyone make anything that can make system shock 2 playable for the psp? I thought that since you can download games onto it from the computer there might be away to make it work.

System Shock 2 is a Windows application.

I pray no further explanation is required.

Actually, there is a Bochs version for the psp. No idea how stable, resource demanding etc. since I don't even have a psp.
I imagine the os emulation + ss2 would be too much for the psp. Also, I doubt the game would play well on a portable.

Holy crap, that's insane.

Now if the Bochs guys can get an all-software version of an old 3dFX card going, we'd have the perfect retro PC gaming platform

Not that any current handheld would be able to run it.

The portables have very feew keys, making games which need a mouse way too complex. For example,Diablo is already ported to PSP due to the built-in PS1 emu.But the controls are auful.I played it once on a friend's psp and equiping items was hard.Ant it takes 1 minute to read from an emulated memory card.

I'd shit bricks if they ported SS2 to PSP.

the psp can be connected to a computer to download games onto a memory stick that has anywhere from 32 mb to 2 gigs. There can be games saved to and played from the memory card. I haven't looked up the graghic stats or anything, but most of the games for the psp have better graphics. i thought that there may be something that the sshock.exe start up button could be replaced with that the psp would recignize.
Then again i could be talking out of my ass.

and the psp operates on the windows system. i don't care if you are a moderator or not, you clearly you don't know anything about the psp. so instead of pretending you know something about what were talking about why not keep your pompous mouth shut?

i pray no further eplaination is required.

shardakemir, you do know that just because you can connect something via usb to a windows operated machine, it does not follow that the peripheral device also uses windows, right? The psp uses this os. The fact that some geek was able to make a x86 emulation work on it, and even got windows to start on it is pretty amazing.

i pray no further epilation is required

yeah i know that schatten, all i wanted to know was if it had been done or could be done. i didn't think it would work becuase of the lack of a mouse and all the buttons, but i figured it was worth asking.

Maybe it's a marketing ploy?
