Is there interest in such a modification to DDFix? I have downloaded the source code, however I've been unable to compile (using the latest Code::Blocks with mingw/gcc). I have, however, converted all the addresses for Thief2's exe to Shock2's exe. I'll add my modified TexOverride.cpp below.
As I said, I'm getting a lot of errors, probably because I have the wrong headers. I'm using the DirectX SDK Nov. '08, does anyone know what Timeslip used?

So, instead of recompiling, I've modified the DLL to work with Shock 2.3 (unpacked), however, it crashes when loading a 32bit bitmap. This modded DLL is attached as well. The crash is in TexOverride.cpp's SpawnTexture function, somewhere at rDDraw->CreateSurface(desc, surf, 0); or after that call. Apparently, CreateSurface doesn't return a valid surface (NULL reference). I'm afraid my reversing skills as well as my understanding of DirectX have decreased somewhat over the years.

So, long story short: anyone else willing to assist? Before I put some more time down: Would this even be usefull, to replace Shock's world textures?

It's written in MSVC, right?
I can recompile those if needed - up to Visual Studio 2005, anyway - though I'm busy until next Tuesday.

As far as I know, Timeslip tried just putting the memory addresses of SS2 into DDFix and that didn't work, and without his own copy of SS2, he hadn't the inclination to fix it.

Well ZylonBane and Nameless have been working on the monitor package a lot lately (not yet released). And SHTUP will certainly continue as well.

Sorry, Kolya, I didn't express myself clearly.

I didn't mean SHTUP being discontinued but rather Seb's attempt to provide a modified DDFix, compatible with SHTUP. ZylonBane said it would have been very useful.

There will very likely be a future version of SHTUP, even though their forums seem dangerously un-alive. I wouldn't expect it sometime within the next week, but the latest version of SHTUP came out within the couple years, I believe. Sometime during the summer. So chances are it's still chugging along, just under wraps. ;]

I think I managed to get the DDfix world texture replacement feature working in SS2. Here are two screens from the first level with some textures replaced:

I used the address modifications provided by Assidragon (which can be found here: http://ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117616&page=21#post_message_1719785) and Seb. It seems a bit wierd because I made no other changes to the original code except commenting out 4 lines that were checking Thief2 exe version :) But anyway, I'd be happy if you'd like to try it. Just replace ddfix.dll with the one atached here and set Thief2Extensions=2 in ddfix.ini. Instructions for replacing textures using ddfixGUI can be found here: http://ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117616&page=20#post_message_1719567. I only tried this with tga textures but it should work with bmp and dds as well.
