other fixed objects files will be overridden in the process (msd_b.bin, light2.bin, light1.bin, bulkdown.bin, banner.bin, air_reof.bin, air_re.bin).
true, we have more conflicts now because of the updated fixed objects release. anyway, whichever way you choose, the issues should be minimal, and this mess will be cleaned up once all the new stuff is out.

until that happens, you'll want SHTUP+fixup package to have higher priority than anything else, because of the higher res models/textures. you will be missing out a fix or two, but screw that, for now.

Hmm for some reason the "broken door" in the beginning of the game retains the old texture. Everything else works though.

This is my load order in Blue's manager:

21. obj_fixes
22. shtup_object
23. shtup

I've also tried:

obj_fixes
shtup + shtup_object

Still, no dice. Unless I'm getting this priority thing confused.

Yes I see that now. I reversed the order and it works. But I suppose the priority thing is confusing me because the mod manager has the list backwards.

To be honest I haven't played SS2 for a while so sorry for the noob questions. But in the obselete mod manager, you would activate SHTUP first..and then ADaoB and Tacticool. But in Blue Mod Manager, I followed the example and reversed the order I would normally activate them (ADaoB higher in the list, SHTUP at the bottom.) Which is why I find it confusing that "higher priority" means higher in the list.

You're right. Broken door doesn't work because door object from "fixed objects" use vanilla instead of SHTUP (custom named?) textures. Therefore, now I'm setting fixed objects to the lowest priority, then SHTUP + model fix (a.k.a. what Primitive Primate was saying all along)

Hm. After browsing through the SHTUP keypad thread one thought occurred to me:

Could you maybe provide just the 1st one (accidentally the one I fancied)  - since it got 2nd tier result with 11 votes - as a separate micro-mod? I think that in every case where there is a significant split in opinions (even if it's a 11+1/50 one, counting me on the matter) providing the 1st one as a default and the 2nd one as an option seems reasonable to me. Also, I've seen this approach numerous times on GFX mods here, so I'll assume it's quite a good way to make everybody happy.

NB It doesn't matter too much to me (I already edited the file for my use), but if I had found alternate_keypad .7z in the attachments of the original post, I wouldn't have posted my doubts at all...

So that door isn't in the compatibility patch?

Are there any other textures missing too?

I'd rather remove individual files from the object fix folder instead of increase their priority, which would just overwrite any other mods that modify assets.  In this case, the door seems to be msd_b.bin.

Edit: The full list of conflicting files are (modders probably already know this, but I don't!):

air_re.bin
air_reof.bin
banner.bin
bulkdown.bin
light1.bin
light2.bin

msd_b.bin
poddoor.bin
rick001.bin
termibof.bin
termibox.bin


Bolded ones are in the compatibility patch.

If I knew how to open these files, I'd try (keyword try) merging the changes and update the patch.. but I know nothing about SS2 modding (going to play for the first time!).

Seeing as the recommended solution is to have SHTUP overwrite them anyway, I'll just remove those files from the mod folder for now; hopefully it won't be too bad. :P

SHTUP should have higher priority than fixed objects, and the SHTUP compatibility package should have higher priority than SHTUP. you can also merge the compatibility pack with SHTUP (overwriting the original models in SHTUP with the ones from the compatibility pack), then run SHTUP with higher priority than fixed objects.

anyway, even if you mess up, the worst thing that can happen is that you will see a bunch of flawed models ingame, nothing game breaking.

Nose, mouth, chin and ears are a pretty good match. Hard to tell for the eyes. Hairline doesn't fit at all.
Keep in mind that he wasn't an A-lister back then.

I have the same question: Is the search still going on? I have an annual ticket for the KHM (Kunsthistorisches Museum) Vienna, and could always ask some of the nerds there. They are often more than happy to tell you about some pieces there.
