A little menu mod that I'm currently working on, ready for early release/testing etc. Was initially intended for personal use, but since there aren't many menu mods on offer I thought I'd put it out there. Not final, but I've spent enough time on it that it looks OK (ish). Unfortunately options are a bit limited it seems, I haven't figured out how to edit anything besides the left panel, and even that was a nightmare, so nothing major yet.

No known conflicts with other mods (yet), but please exercise caution as I haven't done extensive testing etc.

Thanks guys, hope you enjoy. I appreciate any feedback, and I'm looking forward to providing a few small updates with any luck!

Small update again with a few tweaks, also V2 of the Ethical Constraints mod, tweaked and cut down as per advice of the resident veterans.

no way of anything sticking around as long as the mod is bmm compliant and loaded/unloaded properly.

confirming that split second thing - you are missing Netmain.pcx.

Could just be me then lol.

And unfortunately even with Netmain.pcx and SIM.pcx, it still does the split second thing  for me :( So I had removed them to save file space.

Updated with both re-added just in case, as well as a few minor adjustments elsewhere. (v0.12)

works ok for me now - SS2tool install, mod loaded with the manager, max priority.

Uploaded mini-mod which adds Ethical Constraints Removed as main menu / in-game menu music. Delete either mloop if not required (mloop1 is for main menu, mloop2 for in-game menu). Completely optional of course, but highly recommended   :cyborg:

let me know once you think this is release ready, and whether this is meant to be one mod, or two.

Will do thanks! And just the main mod, music is just an optional add-on I suppose  :thumb:

Jesus, how many seconds do the menus freeze up while the engine is caching multiple minutes of 48 kHz stereo music? I'm amazed it even plays that at all. And really, almost three minutes of music for menus that most players are only going to be looking at for a few seconds at a time?

It really wouldn't be that hard to pick out a short part of the song that could be looped, loop it, then save it as a 22kHz ADPCM WAV for that authentic crunchy 1999 sound. Like this.

1 Mb?! You think I'm that rich to afford that kind of hardware?!

I could give you an OGG, but wavs tend to loop better.
