Wow... I wish I could play this game again for the first time as a kid so much! Damn I was scared shitless at the time, I couldn't play for more than 15 minutes without taking a break.

I have to admit I wouldn't mind either - I never had the chance to experience the game as a kid, as I weren't a kid back in 1999 anymore.

It's a shame. So much fun! Every time I tried the game I came a bit further. Finally I made it to the big reveal and then I couldn't believe how long the game still was after that!

I actually never got past Med-Sci as a kid, for a two-fold reason. First, I was far too scared of the hybrids (it was mostly the voiceover that creeped me out). Second - I didn't know English well enough to understand WHAT I was supposed to do in the first place.

I distinctively remember three things about my first playthrough - paying a ridiculous amount of money for a warezed copy of the game (an equivalent of about 50 today's bucks), getting killed by that first medsci lift, and being stuck at finding the art codes for days - no internet = no walkthroughs, and the fact they weren't getting logged by the pda didn't help things either.

glad that's fixed now. and for everybody.

ahh SS2, never change..

also a good example of how the turret strongpoint at the end of eng1 is almost impregnable, if you are not aware of armor piercing ammo and secpanel hacking.

Christ, this kid.
Doesn't know how to lean.
Doesn't know how to quicksave.
Doesn't know how to switch ammo types.
Doesn't pay any attention to logs.
Doesn't rethink his approach when what he's trying just keeps getting him killed.

c'mon, he's like ten and half. and he figured the cameras out pretty swiftly (unlike that other guy who's been tripping alarms up to ops), so give him a break.

also, he's pretty funny at times, and the facial expressions when creeped out by the Many are priceless.
