SS2Tool Offline install is it even possible? Update manually

in the SS2tool I have read the author telling people to "go to a Vista+ machine, update there and bring the files back to your computer". That is just insanity.

so, if anyone is wondering why the tool exists - this is the reason, 20+ posts just to figure out what is going on and how to maybe fix it.

to sum it up - as far as I can tell, he is running a 2.46 GOG build installed by an old offline installer on a xp machine, and is using BMM to load AlyaMod2. this will probably work fine even without updating NVscript, but as soon as he tries to add more modern mods, he will run into trouble.
