I have the NVScript.osm, but I'm not seeing the SQUIRREL.osm file. This is also the file the game keeps telling me is not loading.

that should be placed in the OSM folder by default, unless you are constructing your SS2 install from a cd, manually applying all the updates and patches.

I am installing it from my original SS2 cd. My ss2tool.log says it is Version: 6.1.1.7, but my shock2.log says I have App Version: System Shock 2 Patch Final 2.45.

shock2.log would imply a shock2.exe, which shouldn't be a part of a modern install. if you have patched up with the tool (perfect mode), you should have an up to date ss2.exe in your SS2 folder.

so ehm, what is the problem again? SCP complaining about missing scripts after patching up with the tool and loading the mod using the manager?

yes. I get to the elevator and Im blocked off from entering with the blue screen that says the squirrel.osm is not loaded. I checked my osm file and the sq_scripts withing the SCP file and no, squirrel.osm, only the scpScript.nut.

if there is no squirrel.osm file in the \SS2\OSM\ folder, then something went wrong during the patching process. try repatching with the tool again (perfect mode). see whether that gets the files to their proper places.

anything out of ordinary on that pc? like running windows vista etc. perhaps post that log file if you still have it.

Well, I am running system shock from a usb stick onto my work computer. This computer has a hefty firewall that prevents me from running the ss2tool, but I can repatch it from my home PC. So, I'll try that and see how it goes.

well yeah, squirrel is not getting loaded, no surprise there as we already know it's not in the OSM folder. hmm, \System Shock 2\SHOCK\ is a slightly odd exe location (why the extra SHOCK folder?), but that should get cleared out as long as the tool completes the perfect mode update on this install successfully.

also, snipped your full name out of the log, you probably don't want it hanging on the internet just like that.

Thanks for cutting my name out. If I remember correctly, SHOCK was the original name for the file from my SS2 cd that I patched inside the ss2tool. I placed it inside of the system shock 2 file just to remind me it was system shock 2 and not system shock 1. The Grande Zoom is just a cover-up file so if folks are looking at my desktop it looked like files for a different program I use at work. lol

If I were to guess, squirrel.osm got deleted during a computer update of some type. I noticed to today that my .exe for the Blue Mod manager was gone. I had to redownload that today, as well.

yeah, thought as much. anyway, should work ok as long as you manage to (re)patch your game properly, as mentioned.
