MP, probably.

they would need a new set of grunts and moans.

Yeah, co-op. Also for VR body awareness if that's a feature. I want to see my giant Rebirth spheres, if you catch my drift. (remember trespasser?)
Female body model would be there there anyway for corpses around the station, making a fem goggles reskin for it shouldn't take that much of an extra effort. I think.

creating the model is fairly easy, implementing it as a selectable choice, not so much.

Co-op characters have differently colored suits in the original, i assume the suit color is randomly selected, so different skins for players are already in the game at some capacity. Nightdive just have to find a variable in the game logic responsible for this and make it a selection.

no, it's permanently assigned, player1 will have color1, player2 color2 and so on. again, making this a selectable choice would not be trivial. but it certainly is doable if you have the full source code (this is not 100% confirmed by the way).

anyway, I would say something like this is more of a down the road thing - KEX actually running the game and mods first, then stable MP, and once that is done non-essential extras can be added.

I refuse to create a Twitter account, so whatever's behind that "adult content" warning, I can't see it.

that makes two of us, linked it blindly, but you can see the original picture partially when you scroll a bit lower down as someone quoted the original post. let me see whether I can maybe grab it off discord - looks like I can. ah, now I can see why twitter censored it.

kinda makes you wonder what Diego meant by "I've got something to help you".

Very faithful.  I like it too.  But there's something generic and boring about the new textures.  If you look at the old ones, despite being low res and blurry, you can see a bit more personality in the lights and darks and a lack of symmetry that the new one now has.  The old one is a bit edgier in character.  Hard to be more specific than that but it's a 9/10 otherwise.

yeah, the textures not being quite right seems to be the running theme on all the updated models.

It's mostly a contrast issue. As I demonstrated with the Rumbler texture, it's pretty easy to fix.
6741ed5be5ec9
That is such a weird issue. Like you said it may look better in engine but...

Whaaaa?

So I'm not crazy?

That fixes a big chunk of it but there's something else about the art itself.  I think it's a symmetry thing but the textures look a bit tiled or generic compared to the originals.  Anyway, with the contrast fixed, hard to be too critical of a good effort like this.

psi amp hand model redone. pretty ok, the texture just a bit off this time (maybe it's just the 16bitness of the original. one way or another, I'd live with this one no problem).

Not bad, but looks a bit excessively weathered.

I'm just glad they kept the 3.5mm jack and didn't make the psi amp operate over Bluetooth, which seems to be what every device is doing these days

sarge945Eh could be worse. Anyone remember those old 'wireless' controllers from the 80's and 90's?

6741ed5be6cd9
I was referencing the huge controversy when Apple (and then Samsung) removed the 3.5mm jack from their phones in order to try and force everyone to either buy overpriced bluetooth headphones, or an overpriced dongle.

That was just complete BS on Apple's part. I hate wireless headphones. Give me corded any day.

As something of an audiophile, the biggest problem for me is that wireless IEMs basically universally sound like utter garbage, and you get to pay out the ass for the privilege. No thanks! I'll stick with my old phone!
