SS2-RSD is in the right place relative to SCP, Stasis Trap, and Alarming Cameras. Keep in mind there's a fix for conflicting psi power descriptions with Alarming Cameras in the [install]\SS2\DMM\SS2-RSD_x.xx\ALARMING_CAMERAS_FIX\.

EDIT: SS2-RSD conflicts with Kyu's weapon stats. Loading Kyu's mod over mine may result in some minor discrepancies.

One more question: does the ingame UI get to be pixelated ad higher resolutions?

Yikes. Pokemon modding strikes again.

One more question: does the ingame UI get to be pixelated ad higher resolutions?

It scales up to your resolution by default. If this bothers you for some reason, you can find the ‘cam_ext.cfg’ file in your SS2 install folder and add a “;” character in front of “d3d_disp_scaled_2d_overlay 64”, like so:
Code: [Select]
; enable scaling of in-game 2D overlay (HUD), makes the things like current item/weapon text, or SS2
; HUD/panels, larger at resolutions of 1280x960 or higher with pixel perfect scaling (requires "use_d3d_display")
; NOTE: Enabling scaling may actually improve performance, especially at high resolutions.
d3d_disp_scaled_2d_overlay 64;

One more: Zygoptera's Random Item mod and Spawn mod are incompatible still right?

Re: Mod load order
682be7f2bd8c2
They're incompatible because they both replace the maps. In fact, this means you're losing SCP's map changes and will thus be incompatible with many of SS2-RSD's changes to SCP's maps via DML. I'd drop Zygo's mods if you want to use SCP and/or SS2-RSD.

Years ago I finished SS2 a few times, save for OSA path. I remember the gist of SS2 and how the gameplay progressed, so to mix it up I went for hard mode, OSA and mods, hence the pokemon modding. You're one of the oldest community members around, so maybe you know  if I can add some more gameplay changing mods?

ooh, the manager is not complaining about SCP and the Zygo Randomizer being active at the same time? we may want to fix that.

Build questions.
682be7f2bdd36
0. WTF are the Sim units on Deck4? Found one with the spider trap? Can't kill the spiders tho :/ EDIT:Found the second one in Bulkhead 4.2 near the "nanites betweeh eggs on ceiling trap".

1. I have 126 upgrade modules. OSA path, Cryo, Camera disarm, Cyber Affinity.

2. Stats:

STR 2
END 1
PSI 3
AGI 2
CYB 2

HACK 4
REPAIR 1
MAINT 2
MOD 0
RES 1

STND 1
ENERGY 1
HEAVY 0
EXOTIC 0

3. Is EMP rifle worth 6 points in exotic just for robots? Protocol and Maintenance robots die easy to overload Laser Pistol or even Wrench if I get lucky.

7. Is it worth it to invest in research and exotic just for Shard? Exotic 1 + Research 3 (I have Lab implant) = 33 modules. Worth it without PSI melee amplification power (+ 6 modules= 39 total)?

8. Or just use wrench + PSI amplify damage (6 modules)?

9. Pyrokinesis is 41+11=42 modules total? Worth it over other options? Tier 3 has PSI recharge too, worth it?

10. Maintenance vs No_Degradation_PSI?

all will work ok, kinda depends on what you like (just don't put any more points into Repair, one level is waste enough). the sim units are quest things, you need to put other quest things inside to progress to the other parts of the game.

I played SS2 a few times before, just not with mods, not on hard and not as OSA.

Any pointers as for the above questions?

So far I can solo maintenance yellow and white bots with overcharge laser pistol so I think 6 points in Energy just for EMP rifle and assault bots seems like waaay too much investment considering that there arent that much assault bots to begin with.

Can bots be hacked?

Re: Build questions.
682be7f2be0ae
kind of.

generally, psi is not really worth it, emp rifle makes the last level a breeze, str4 and maint4 are always good, shard is always nice, wrench is good too if you want to go standard 6, pyro meh, maint over psi any day, 'cause ain't nobody got time to cast.

How about both Worm weapons + PSI ammo clone?

Or Fusion cannon + PSI ammo clone?

Re: Build questions.
682be7f2be2c0
there should be enough fusion ammo around, but yeah, cloning worms is not a bad strategy if you really want what the worm guns offer.

"look at this disgusting crap!" holds up a beaker with worms and shakes it "we need MORE of it!"

Re: Build questions.

Assuming you still have SS2-RSD installed as in your mod load order, voodoo's guidance based on vanilla balance isn't exactly correct.

It's now very worthwhile to get Research for the Crystal Shard, since you need Research 2 for annelid healing glands and monkey organs, Research 3 for annelid psi glands and midwife organs, and Research 4 for the Crystal Shard and arachnid organs. Whether you want to spec into Exotic is up to you, though.

The wrench is much less effective now that it no longer scales with the Standard skill, so if you're hoping to focus on melee it is paramount to unlock the Crystal Shard, Laser Rapier, or Psi Sword ability. Adrenaline Overproduction and the Lethal Weapon/Smasher O/S traits make a much bigger difference for those weapons too, since they multiply damage before strength bonuses and this is critically low on the wrench.

I think the EMP rifle is great, personally. Allows you to completely declaw droids and turrets, plus it's decent against cyborgs too. Bots are the biggest threat for an OSA character, so this is pretty substantial. Plus, you'll get the Laser Rapier for "free" on your way to it.

Maintenance is no longer a no-brainer pick, since weapons with higher skill requirements restore much less condition with each tool applied. I personally think Anti-Entropy is a great power if you remember to cast it before fights. Repair is worth looking at as a niche option if you're using Heavy weapons, since it now lets you "buy" prisms very cheaply, which is also important as the Fusion Cannon eats more prisms per shot now.

I wouldn't bother with Projected Pyrokinesis unless you're a full OSA character. For a hybrid build I'd get utility skills (stat boosts, shields, Anti-Entropy, Molecular Duplication, Electron Cascade). Tier 3 has some good stuff.

Of course, you won't be able to do everything. Choose wisely whether you want to dip into a lot of different skills or specialize (the highest ranks of stats/skills/psi disciplines are all cheaper now). You won't be able to max out all of the weapon skills without sacrificing tech skills and psi powers. Standard and Energy is a good combo, and I'd support them with Maintenance, Modify, and maybe Anti-Entropy and Electron Cascade. I wouldn't get more than a rank or two in Exotic unless you have a plan for how it'll fit. I also don't see Heavy past 3 in your build unless you leave Standard and Energy pretty low.

Unusual ways to play.
682be7f2bea2b
1. What are unusual ways to build a character?

2. Are there game changing mods like SS2-RSD that work with Kolya's Randomizer and Double Spawn mod? Does the double spawn rate give, in the long run, double the loot?

Also, not that it's something new for you, Recycler from a hacked replicator costs 100creds. A recycled implant sells for 10cr. Everything else sells for 1cr. Don't bother with Recycler, it's not even worth the space it's taking in the inventory.

Re: Unusual ways to play.

1. repair 6 and heavy 3, to repair the one item in the entire game that actually requires this and then use it to freeze enemies a bit.
2. mods not found?

yeah, you are not getting rich off the recycler, that's for sure.

My bad, it's Zygoptera's Randomizer and Spawn mods.

>2. mods not found?

What do you mean?

Do you happen to know whether Secmod 3 or SS Infinite are compatible with the Randomizer and Spawn mods?

Also, do the weapon replacements only change the graphics of the weapons or also change the stats of the weapons?

682be7f2bed1avoodoo47

Re: Unusual ways to play.
682be7f2bed68
they only change the visuals (unless stated otherwise). nope, the Randomizer and Spawn mods are not compatible with any other mod that has its own maps and gamesys (whatever has higher priority in BMM will end up being active).
