Greetings. I am attempting to use SS2Tool to update NewDark. Unfortunately, it's giving me an error. I'm on Ubuntu 20.04 and running it from the command line. First, it brings up the window stating it's going to try to update the engine. When I click OK, it brings up a window saying "Network error (Redirection (302)). Internet connection required. Retry?" Clicking OK immediately brings up the same menu. And yes, the machine does have a working internet connection. Any thoughts?

*edit* I am attempting to play SS2 from GOG

Specs below, just in case they're useful:
O.S.: Ubuntu 20.04
Memory: 32gb @3,000mhz
CPU: Amd Ryzen 7 1700 at 3ghz.
GPU: Radeon RX 570
Kernel: 5.4.0-54-generic
SS2Tool version: 6.1.1.8
WINE version: wine-5.0 (Ubuntu 5.0-3ubuntu1)

I've had issues in the past with wineprefixes being unable to use the internet.

My solution was to use Lutris to create/manage my wine installations and prefixes.

SS2 has been an OOB working experience for me under Lutris.

Did you set the Windows Version to Windows 7 in winecfg? That has to be done.

Yes, winecfg is set to Windows 7

After reading the comment about using Lutris, I tried using PlayOnLinux. It setup Wine 3.0 to be used, which worked when using POL to run SS2Tool.

Good to see you fixed your issue.

It might be worth adding a mention of POL and Lutris in the official Linux setup thread for those who are having issues, as they can both make getting a correct winecfg MUCH easier for regular users.

Honestly, it’s enough to make you want to attack your own eyeballs with a rusty spoon.
