Looks more like a DOS game than a PS1 game. For the PS1 aesthetic you need those warping textures and snapping vertices.

ah, so it's a demake, I'm ok with that - at first, I was thinking someone is making a game and going for the ps1 3d retro style intentionally, which would probably be the dumbest thing in a while, I don't think there are a lot of things more visually repulsive than that, with all the jagginess, nonexisting z-bufferiness, polygon cracks and other artifacts.

don't get me wrong, a lot of retro styles are perfectly ok, and look nice in their own way, but ps1 full 3d.. urgh.

*looks at the video publish date, and realizes public ps1 devkits probably do not exist* yeah, it probably is.

There's been A LOT of ps1 demake videos coming out over the past few years. There was the Cyberpunk 2077 one and several others.

We also had that review by June Gloom about a horror game ("Glass stairs" or something) which I actually played through and which used early PS style to  good effect. As far as I can tell anyway; I never owned a PS.

EDIT: The Glass Staircase

EDIT EDIT: Anyway Control is cool although I'm a bit disappointed about the story being evil secret government agency abducted my brother and rules from the shades through paranomal powers.

that is ps1 2d/3d (Resident Evil) style, which is ok for its time.

But perhaps I can just enjoy the neon murder.
