Just recently completely reinstalled Laptop with the new Linux Mint 18 and having a few problems getting my backup of SS2 from my HDD. No big deal, let me get back to you soon.
Edit1: Found what was the problem with the HDD, now I have problems with Wine. Also I just found out that this update Steam makes for System Shock CAN be reverted. In the properties go to betas and select which version you'd like to use. It says something like "Old version, System Shock 2.44" and also 2.43 and 2.42 and some others.

So here's what I got...
All things tested with BMM 1.14 (default SSTool 6.1.1.1 install) AND your BMM_Wine version. Same results:

*Deutsche-Übersetzung automatically installed with SSTool WWWlookup doesn't find anything on google.

*"Install mod archives(s)..." show's a popup message one can only click, but doesn't see a lot of it. When I hover over the thing on the bottom of the screen it says "Extracting mod archives. (screenshot) It then works and refreshes. So good job there!

*"Delete" shows a popup message, but has nothing in the bottom of the screen as "Install mod archive(s)..." had. After clicking "OK" the deletion also hasn't worked. Bad. It did in the last test I made with your early version of 1.14. a month ago.

*Putting a zipped mod in the DMM folder and then opening the BMM_Wine opens a popup before it can show what's inside the modmananger (it goes transparent and shows what's behind. In this case this very topic). Same popup as in "Install mod archives(s)" (screenshot 1). After clicking "OK" another popup comes, I guess it should be your warning notification to where the mods are going to be placed, but it has no text. Transparency gone, but no mod's listed yet. I can only click "OK" (screenshot 2). After that it worked fine and the modmanager is ready to use (screenshot 3). Doing this again doesn't have the second popup, so it most likely is the notification. I would really consider making a tickable field with "Don't show this again", and always show that warning until you tick it.

Still the "About" box is too small to show all the text, but the rest seems to work fine. Also "Open Mod archive" does what it says.

Tested with Wine 1.6.2 again.

So you have the same problems with text boxes as rcc, both with this test build and the official 1.14 version? And they didn't occur with the intermediate 1.14 build?

I'll have to double-check but I'm 99% certain I didn't change anything in the code that would make all messages break completely in between those versions. Maybe some library changed on my end. Of course, I only now set up version control, so the intermediate 1.14 is gone. :/
Re: Re: SS2 Blue Mod Manager

Maybe some library is not installed on my end. Should't be needed to install additional libraries though.

Okay, try these: Just install a mod archive and try to delete it so the deletion message pops up. Test 3 won't show a progress dialog, that's part of the test. :)
If nothing improves, I'm sorta out of ideas and will simply assume that my PC is possessed.

Re: Re: SS2 Blue Mod Manager

Hmm that doesn't look too good:

ss2bmm_Test1.exe:
Again transparency issue when putting zip in the DMM folder and a warning I cannot read. No second popup notification, but the import works after clicking "OK". Delete gives a popup but doesn't delete.

ss2bmm_Test2.exe:
same

ss2bmm_Test3.exe:
As you've said, it doesn't show any popup when I start BMM up and it imports automatically. Delete doesn't work either.

Any chance this is on my end?

Well, if you're using the same Wine version as before, it can't really be Wine, right (aside from the fact that it is still a Wine bug, only with more disastrous results now)? Unless everything hinges on some itty bitty config change you haven't yet made on your new setup. So if you want to go crazy digging through the myriad of different Wine compatiblity settings, go ahead.
I incrementally deactivated all changes related to notifications in those tests which is the only thing that could mess up the dialogs.

Well I had some libraries (DLL overrides) installed on my end because of some other game not working. Noooo idea any more what these were and I don't know how I'd find out.

Last chance, just try the delete dialog.

Coming back from my small holiday tonight. Will check tonight or tomorrow.

Congratulations Marvin! The "Delete" button now works perfectly. The warning message is even shown completely with an also working and selectable "No" and "Yes". Both do what they should. Before I could only click "OK" and the window was too small so it only said "Dele..."

Yay. Expect an update with the rest of the changes during the week. Is the text still cut off? Thanks for testing btw.

The text of the Delete message is not cut off, it's completely shown.

Subtitles like Deutsche_Untertitel_Beta2 is still "unrecognized" tho. I thought you'd fixed that?

Weird. How about now?

What do you mean? I either need a new version of BMM or the mod to test.

I updated the download again, just to be sure:

Alright. The new mod now says subtitle, good job.

Alrighty. Here's the rc for v1.15. Could you take a quick look with the usual functions? Thanks!

Re: Re: SS2 Blue Mod Manager
6744414a25f13
The "Extracting" Dialog popup box is still not entirely shown, but functions without problems.

When putting a zipped mod into the DMM folder and then starting up the BMM it is still the same issue as it was with the tests before: First it gets transparent, then the one-time warning comes, but without any text (can only click "OK").

Delete and LookupWWW seem to function well.

Copying a zipped mod to the DMM folder while BMM is running will not install the mod, as you've explained before, but restarting BMM installs correctly (only with a too small box when it says "Extracting...", as always).

Open mods folder and Select game folder seem to work perfectly.

All in all: Very good job Marvin!

Maybe Wine simply doesn't support RichMessageDialogs (dialogs with checkboxes). I'll fiddle around with it some more and put up the release. This Wine nonsense is giving me headaches. :D

Thanks again for the thorough testing!
