You have to choose either grubpod vanilla or slimey. Since you have slimey set to a higher priority, the vanilla one won't do anything.

correct, those two are mutually exclusive, and while loading them both at the same time will not break anything, only the one with the higher priority will be used ingame.

Ah, right, thanks..

Placing biomatter before SHTUP causes a black screen. Really odd.

try to disable/pause a random other mod and see whether it goes away.

but before you do that, save while the screen is black and post the save here.

Too late, the black screen is already gone by disabling random mod. I will post if i can reproduce it.

re-enabling should bring it back.

Nope, probably because the load order is now different. maybe it didn't like that i had 2 instances of the pod (not that it mattered that i turned it on again).

the internal name for this is banana black screen - under extremely rare circumstances, the game will not start after mods are loaded, displaying just a black screen. changing the mod setup just a tiny bit will fix it.

it would be nice if you could restore the mod setup that made it bug out, and provide a save in the black screen state. it should be possible.

good. back the entire SS2 install/game folder somewhere (zip it up, perhaps), it might come in handy in case someone will actually figure out what to troubleshoot. also, please post a screenshot of the mod combo that results in the black screen.

I think we are done for the moment, so once the game is backed up, feel free to fix your current install by moving the mods to the working position (I assume you want to play the game).

thanks.

Here's a screenshot. I'll compress the folder and save it on my backupdrive.

hey, can the bmm use relative game path in the cfg? I tried using
Code: [Select]
game.folderPath .\, but it reverts to absolute when bmm quits.
Re: Re: SS2 Blue Mod Manager

It is portable since it finds the path from its own location. What do you care if it uses relative or absolute paths internally?
Seriously interested.

the mod guide shows a safe, recommended mod loadout that should be good for most users. rule of thumb is that if you want more eyecandy, you put it on top of that (highest priority), but you are recommended to get it double checked on the forum. post your ss2bmm.log, and we will see whether something needs to be changed.

Is bluemess still gone? I'd like him to add subtitles to the list of accepted mod types but apparently he's out of reach.

I'll see if I can fix it myself.

yeah, he is gone for almost a year now. tried to pm him, but no reply. anyway yeah, the source is available.
Re: Re: SS2 Blue Mod Manager

Do you still need the version without SSE2 instructions?

6743c2949b64dvoodoo47

Re: Re: SS2 Blue Mod Manager
6743c2949b69b
the assumption is that SSE2 is not really required, and the latest build was just compiled with it enabled because it's the default setting, and if it's really not needed for anything, than yeah, it would be preferable to have it work on junk computers as well.
Re: Re: SS2 Blue Mod Manager
6743c2949b85d
Ok, here it is:
Code: (Changelog v1.13) [Select]
- included new mod type: subtitles
- built without enhanced instruction set (/arch:IA32), specifically SSE2 instructions are disabled
- bumped version number to 1.13

The exe was built with MSVS2013 as before, so you might need the latest VisualC++ Redistributable:

I didn't test it very thouroughly, but I didn't touch anything sensitive enough to break so everything should be ok. I cannot test it on Win-XP so whoever was affected by the SSE2 problem has to see if this helps. If everything is in order, I can upload the new source files later.
