Ok, another thing: The Pause/Resume function should disable the mod but keep it at the same place in the list. However, it does not seem to actually disable the mod - it's still entered in cam_mod.ini even if paused. Can someone confirm this?

yes, but it is (should be) commented out, and not loaded.
Re: Re: SS2 Blue Mod Manager

Ah, I see it now, the asterisk. That's a pretty stupid way to comment out things, but yeah, my bad.

I wouldn't know, but you know, if it's stupid and it works, is it really stupid?

Well, using an asterisk in a path or file name has a very specific meaning. Anyway, doesn't matter.

@ Marvin,

Thanks for updating Bluemess's mod manager to v1.13 !

All that was posted after the above, was an error on my part. Apologies to all !

Well, the new version simply checks for a "subtitles" folder inside the mod folder which is exactly what NewDark wants in general. Since the subtitles are correctly recognized, my guess is that the there is another conflict with SS2Infinite's subtitles which causes the warning sign to be shown. There should always be an explanation in the status bar.
Can you upload that folder so I can find out?

Edit: Huh? I guess the problem solved itself. :)

Yeah, sorry to disturb you Marvin . . . my stooopid bad. I exceeded the "30 characters limit" for the mod's folder name. :lordy: O_o

To that end, can the current "30 character limit" for a mod's folder name be increased to accommodate 40 or even 50 characters, for those that want to thoroughly describe a mod's folder name to include more details regarding the mod's name, version number, author's name, etcetera ?

Re: Re: SS2 Blue Mod Manager

In SS2BMM it's just a config variable, so no problem. I thought that's a ND limitation, not something to do with the mod manager. In any case, I assume there was some educated guess on what the character limit should be and I'm not going to change it without being certain it won't fuck up things.

I'll upload the new source files and the exe later today. I'd like to add more features (readme button for example) but I'm not at all proficient in C/C++ and bluemess' code is very professionally written (read: everything's objective-based, difficult to sort through for beginners, and there are no comments) so it will take some time.

It's still highly commendable that you stepped forward and improved upon Bluemess's latest iteration of his mod manager, due to his long-term absence.

I didn't improve on it, I added a sum total of 12 lines or so, my C++ skills could be best compared to those of a chimpanzee with a typewriter. Maybe I can add something substantial next time, but until then, I'm going to shut up about the topic.

Is 7zip installed? What about "Extract here"?

You can also just extract the files into their own folder by clicking "Extract files..." and then "ok", it's the same thing.

a small feature request for the next version - currently, bmm checks the validity of a SS2 install by looking up shock2.exe, it would be helpful to also detect/accept ss2.exe, as some users might be using that to get rid of rogue compatibility settings.

Marvin, would you kindly?

Currently on vacation, but should be easy to add. I'll look into it after I return.

Re: Re: SS2 Blue Mod Manager

Here's the modified ss2bmm.exe which also accepts ss2.exe. Sorry it took so long but only got to it tonight.

Right now, ss2bmm will look for Shock2.exe first and only revert to ss2.exe if it cannot find the former, both in the current folder and when selecting a different game folder. The change is also reflected in the log. It's list based, so adding other exes takes 5 seconds.
Version bumped to 1.13a.

Done. It should be noted that to get it in Update mode you have to check the options box for the mod manager. (In Perfect mode this is pre-checked.)
