I've been a fan of SS2  for a long time, but just this month I started to play SS1 and wow, it's a completely different game, I wasn't expecting to like it since while watching screenshots I felt repulsed by the graphics, but now they are growing on me. Well, to the point that I'm enjoying the Enhanced Edition so much, that I mapped my PS4 controller work with the game and sit to play on my giant monitor after work, but I digress, I would like to know if anyone has heard or attempted to play SS1 on a smartphone or a handheld console and how accessible would be to play with touchscreen, specifically I would love to find if there's any possibility to play on my PS Vita.

I think I got SS1 running through a dosbox app on my phone once. Well "running". Due to the lack of controls I didn't get very far.
You would need a real port with completely new controls to enjoy it and then it's still not a game that lends itself to casual game sessions.

Bro, I got good news for you. Just wait until December because the Steam Deck is coming out and since it's a full-blown computer in the carcass of a handheld console you'll be able to play SS EE and literally everything you can on a computer with Steam or GoG.

So I did a little experiment with DOSbox in Retroarch with my PS Vita using SSP and my GoG copy files, here's the result:

Not really an answer per se, but system shock 1 and 2 are likely to both work extremely well on the Steam Deck
