My game crashes at the loading screen upon starting a new game, it doesn't even load all the way before crashing like it normally would, the bar doesn't even go up a single notch before getting a "System Shock 2 has encountered an error and needs to close" kind of thing.

It runs fine without Secmod though.

Did you install the mod manually or with SS2MM?

SS2MM, and I enabled Rebirth, Secmod and the Secmod Rebirth patch in this order: Rebirth, Secmod, Secmod Rebirth patch.

Sorry for the double-post but I'd also like to add that I don't get the special Secmod title screen page either.

So... perhaps the mod isn't loading properly from the modmanager? Is there anything special I should do? I renamed the .zip to .ss2mod so I figured that's all there was to be done... unless I'm missing something undocumented here?

Sorry again for the triple-post but it's definitely worth it to help those who are having the same problem as I am.

This shit isn't SS2MM-compatible out of the box, make a folder in your System Shock 2\SS2MM\ folder for Secmod 2.1 and then drop the .7z file in there, within the .7z file extract mod.ini, readme.txt and sec2.ico into the folder you just created for the .7z file. Then simply activate it in the modmanager.

This works for the Rebirth patch as well.

Make sure that you have the most recent version of the mod manager.

This is awesome, but I just got the Naturally Able trait and the 7 cyber modules I had disappeared after loading a saved game.  I got them back after typing add_pool 7 into the console, but if I save and load the game again, the modules disappear.  Is this normal?  Also, the mod manager doesn't seem to apply this correctly and the only way to get it working is to overwrite all the files manually.

Huh, that's odd.  I played until Polito/SHODAN uploaded some modules to me and now it sticks.  I hope it stays that way.  I wonder if I lost any other modules on the way.

Same problem.  I had 17 when I saved and now I have 9.  I have to keep an eye on my modules.

Yeah, I had that problem with Naturally Able, going from 7 to 0 right after claiming a five finger discount on Dr. Watts' access card and going back through the first Medsci bulkhead. Restarted and picked Lethal Weapon instead :(

The Naturally Able bug has already been reported, I think.

it's not really playable with Naturally able atm because with every transition the game is saved and literally loaded so you lose some if not all CMs on the way.. even if try not to save&load yourself for the whole game.
fix on the way already but still have to wait.

Updated the main mod to version 2.2 in the first post.
Also added the ultrafix there (renamed to "SECMOD_patch_2.1_to_2.2.rar").

Ok, I need some help. I can't seem to get this thing running again. What files should I be using, how should it be packed, and what order should they be loaded in. I want to use this along with rebirth and various other graphical enhancements.

Ok, I'm not doing something right. I got it working the when it was first released, but ever since these patches have come out, I haven’t been able to get the damn mod running. I've tried changing the archive extension and I've moved the unpacked files to the MODS folder in the SS2MM and still nothing. I've also tried the 2.2 file that was just posted and still no joy.
Re: SS2 TF's Secmod 2.8
66f9917499bbb
Excuse me, the main archive contains SecMod 2.2. Does it mean that patches "2.0 to 2.1" and "2.1 to 2.2" are unnecessary?
Re: SS2 TF's Secmod 2.8
66f9917499cab
These patches are for people who want to update their existing secmod instead of downloading the whole thing again.
Re: SS2 TF's Secmod 2.8

One more thing if you don't mind: using Mod Manager I activated Secmod, but when I start a new game or load a saved one the game crushes. Remind me, please, the solution...

install.cfg
Code: [Select]
resname_base .+.\res
Re: SS2 TF's Secmod 2.8
66f9917499f87
I inserted this string into the file but it didn't change anything. Also I tried to replace resname_base RES by the one shown above. No result. And I know the Secmod is the reason of crushing, because when I deactivate it, everything goes fine.

Are you using the latest version of the modmanager?
