Much abliged to you, Gods of the Shock 2. Thank you for helping a puny mortal as myself, for what am I compared to a perfect...game programmer. :P
You're an awesome man aren't you? )))

That's in the original game.

wow...that's...a lot simpler then I thought it was. :P

I suppose I could have checked the manual, but...I'm lazy. 8) Anyways, thank you for that. In fact, a lot of my previous problems fixed themselves; I can select and hack computers, I can see glowing quantum junk, all the badguys kick my ass, the whole game has been transformed (I haven't seen the Cyborg Assassins yet, but I will....some day), and everything's running smoothly. I have the custom psi amp and everything else I modded in, but the sounds are still different. If someone could confirm or deny my suspicions that the mod is incompatible with DFB Sound mod then that would be good.

Also new problem; an issue of convenience. I've tried binding "Play Unread Log" many times, and it seems to register when I do, but in-game if I get a new mod and press the button I use/ get a message that says I'm out of Psi hypos. This is really annoying, especially since the action isn't on any of the other keys either. How's this fixed? Am I being a dolt? it's a problem with the game mod I'm pretty sure; I can read unread logs this way in my other versions.

Has anyone finished this game playing for OSA freak? I noticed there so few psi hypos in this mod that it's almost impossible to go through with psiamp...

I have a problem. After installing this mod, none of the new items have names. It's like "picked up" whenever I get a new item.

But other than that, everything is awesome. I love the speedy hybrids and random placement, the hinged models for containers, the new lockers, everything is just amazing. You've completely revamped my game, and that scary feeling of the unknown has returned to me three-fold.

If someone could show me a way to fix these names though, that'd be damn decent of you.

Hi. Me and 2 friends of mine are playing this mod, and ran into a problem. The game crashes when zoning into Engineering. Med/Sci worked fine. Each of us has individually tried zoning into Engineering, and it works. When 2 or 3 of us try it, the host gets a black screen, and the clients crash after getting the waiting for players beep sound.

We "solved" the problem by replacing the eng1.mis with the original mission, so it seems to be a problem with the map file? We also tried zoning with the original mission, enabling secmod and loading. That worked for a while after it randomly crashed.

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks in advance.

Strange, make sure you have the latest version of the mod, with all the patches, and that you used the latest Modmanager to enable it. I don't have any other ideas.

jockmo: Sounds like your Strings folder is missing some files, old modmanager version maybe? Try a reinstall or somesuch anyhow.

We are all using secmod 2.7 (some use the rebirth patch also) and modmanager 1.1.

Hmm... Well I'm more or less completely sure I put your mod over a fresh install. I didn't use modmanager because it bugged my game right after I had it working on XP.

Is this why the names are missing? Thanks.

Okay, Mod Manager and Secmod are working. I edited the loot lists so enemies drop a few cyber modules when killed, and now many of my sounds aren't playing at all. What did I do?

Fixed the filefront mirror.

I am experiencing a ton of crashes on ops. Most of them on bulkhead 44. Any solution? It's almost to the point of unplayability.

Exactly what kind of crash are you experiencing?  Any details, error messages, etc?
Does the crash happen if you run the game through ShockEd?

I made it through MedSci, Engineering, and Hydro without any problems. When the crashes started, I first thought that they were tied to doing certain things. The game would crash when I recycled a plant or when I read the log about the cyborg assassins. However, the more I played Ops, the more random and frequent the crashes became. Every crash was accompanied with a message saying that System Shock 2 has stopped working.

Can you try running the game through ShockEd?
If you install the ShockEd Toolkit, run ShockEd.exe and then press alt+g to enter game mode, you can then press esc to load your game through the menus as usual.
Once it crashes, information about the crash will be written to the file monolog.txt in your Shock2 folder.  Can you post the contents of that file, please?

That crash seems to be in a function _DrawCursorByHandleCenter() inside Shock2 - but I have no idea what that means.  It's not a part of any script module used in SecMod, anyway.
I don't know what might cause it.

Well damn. Heres hoping that moving on to Rec magically fixes everything.

UPDATE: Goodish news everyone! I made it to Rec and the crashes have really cut back. The game seems to only crash occasionally when a new SecMod event is triggered. Also, when it does crash, my resolution is reset. Not a big deal, just a strange inconvenience.

Oh yes.

Check the windows in the upper part of the crew quarters there.

Thank you.
Also, Bulkhead 61, Command B I believe, will not load. The game cashes every single time I try to go there.

Seriously people, I can't finish the game. I NEED HELP!

Just wanted to drop a quick note.  My son comes here a lot as he really enjoys SS2.

Anyway, he was having the same issue as the previous poster.  Going through that bulkhead caused the game to crash.  So I went through his list of mods, he had a few for weapons and what not.  After disabling everything but the SEC mod, he could go through the bulkhead.  So we went back through and enabled each mod one at a time.  It looks like there is something with SHTUP that caused the problem.  That was the last mod I enabled and the game started crashing again when going through that door.  I went back and disabled all the mods again, this time leaving SHTUP and SEC mod active, it still crashed.

Hope that helps.  I didn't pull a log, if you need me to do that let me know.  We're using Mod Manager v1.1.

Command B.  Command deck, SHTUP.  Makes me think of the COM#.pcx bug, but SecMod shouldn't be affected by that, and SHTUP should fix it anyway.

Try installing the files here to rule that possibility out: https://www.systemshock.org/index.php/topic,894.0.html

Otherwise, a log would be useful.  You'll need to be running through ShockEd with the monolog enabled to get a log (output to monolog.txt)
