open the console with shift+;
and type "script_load nvscript.osm" in there, see if that fixes it

I've just reinstalled SS2 recently and began playing Secmod to finally try out what seems like a lot of fun that I've been missing out on. Upon playing I quickly noticed an issue. When I right-clicked on my pistol to check out the list of possible modifications, more than half of the window that appeared was hanging outside the left of the screen.

My monitor's resolution is at a 4:3 ratio (1024x768) and when playing SS2, the FOV seems all out of whack. Though this is probably a normal symptom, I decided to make use of the WidescreenMod and down the FOV to 75% for a more natural visual. However, similar to how weapons tend to sink inside of the screen a bit, it must have also screwed with the positioning of the new weapons modification window, as when I moved the FOV back to 100%, the modification window's position was corrected.

Is there perhaps any simple fix for this issue?

That's exactly what SS2 was made for. So I'd say the view is supposed to be like it appears for you. Never seemed weird to me anyway.
I guess the additional modifying menu placement is scripted in NVScript.osm. Probably not too easy to fix.
For me in 1024x600 it's partly covered by the Tic-Tac-To window on the left upper corner. Still fully usable though.

I sorta understood that SS2 was meant to be like that. The view isn't necessarily bad if not adds an extra quirk to the gameplay and I've played in the standard FOV plenty of times. I just thought it might be interesting to play the game from a more natural 'eye' for once; no biggie though if it's not an easy fix.

Hi everyone just tried out this mod and must say it is very good. I got one minor problem though, actually 2, the tooltips of the OS upgrades are still the old ones, have not checked if they work like they are supposed to with Secmod.
Second one is that setting up hotkeys is a bit strange since nothing is were it should be.
For example binding Psi Hypos does everything just not using PSI Hypos.
Is there a way to know where is which ability now? Or is my installation not really working?

Sounds like you're missing the string files...

Mh I did extract the string folder again into my System Shock 2 folder but it did not help.

Is Diego's body missing?  I found his last audio log to me on the Rickenbacker, but I can't find his body.  I'd really like to get into his room.  Any help?

Intentional, his body has been moved.  Just keep playing.

Minor update with this version 2.8:
The weapon modification buttons now work with the left mouse button (as well as RMB) for more intuitive handling. Thanks NV.

Ok, I seem to remeber having a smiliar problem before, but i figured I might as well ask again.

Since Mercurius released his new Assult Rifle, I figured it was time for another run through. I never got the chance to finish SecMod 2, so I used the mod manager and loaded up v2.7. Everything seemes to run fine, excpet that none of the custom items have names, I can't use item (when ever I click in the inventory, I attack,) none of the custom key binds appear in the config, and there are graphical errors, such as the security console going blank when I interact with it.

I downloaded 2.8, but am having the same results. I'm using SecMod, rebirt, SHTUP, and a handful of other graphical mods. Could someone help a brother out?

Sounds like Broken Shoot/Use Mode plus some undefined graphical error.

I don't think so. I had been playing AylaMod v1 before hand and everything else moved smoothly. THere are just too many sec mod specific problems, like the key bindings no appearing.

Try a new install. Some files may have been left over from Alya. I'm just playing SecMod and have none of these issues.

Still no good. I can't bind any of the new items and said items still don't have in game descriptions.

that either means your 'strings' (item descriptions) and 'intrface' (key bindings) folders aren't up to date
or if they are, then somehow they aren't being read properly, or it's looking for those folders in another install
make sure the paths in your install.cfg are actually pointing to where you installed secmod?

It appears that everything is in working order now. I have no idea if anything you guys said helped, but thank you none the less.

From what I can tell, somebody tapped the frequency resonator to refract human sized movements. The overload of all those people moving around must have blown the resonator and reset Mr Rayford's breakfast.
