System Shock 2 Damage Numbers

- Requires SS2 NewDark patch v2.48 or higher.
- Can be activated and deactivated mid-game.
- May be incompatible with any mods that assign custom scripts to AIs.

This mod displays numbers popping out of enemies when you attack them, indicating how much damage they received. The numbers will be color-coded to the enemy's health. Rapid consecutive damage to a target will be combined into a single cumulative popup.

In situations where the damage dealt by an attack is greater than the hit points the enemy has remaining, this will still display the full potential damage of the attack.

Note that some AIs and objects in the game have custom script setups that will prevent the numbers from appearing.

Several customization options are built into the script for altering the damage combining behavior, font size, color, and animations.

Is this supposed to be a reference to VtMB perhaps? I've never played it since my GPUless college laptop doesn't like it. But I've seen videos and those videos have damage numbers.

There are hundreds of games that do this.

The number animation is this mod was specifically modeled after Prey (2017), which is fitting because Prey was specifically modeled after System Shock 2.
