Melee weapon swings are motions, not coded animations like the guns use. Adding time warp to melee weapons has no effect, so pretty sure the only way to change their speed is to edit the motion.

iirc there were a few variables there that seemed to be melee weapon related, but guess not.

As a side note, the hit detection is also a point marked in the melee weapon model. IIRC you actually hit the enemy with the mid section of the meele weapon and not with the tip. I tinkered around with that a bit and if you would actually hit with the tip of a weapon it would be too powerful, so it seems like a balance decision to shift it further back.

He's saying that you would have too much melee range if the hitbox was on the tip of the weapon instead of the center.
