System Shock 2 Freezing

SS2 freezes at certain times, primarily when using keycard readers, firing weapons, and changing gamma settings.

Hopefully somebody will help me figure this out this actually happens with a few of my games.

you are probably talking about FPS drops/stuttering, not the computer locking up.

try d3d_disp_limit_gpu_frames 1 instead of d3d_disp_limit_gpu_frames 1 1 in cam_ext.cfg (more FPS related setting can be found there), but I doubt this will help, especially if multiple games are experiencing the same issue. this is a laptop, those usually allow you to create profiles for games, if so, make sure the laptop assigns the performance mode to those game, not power saving.
