A mod for arachnophobiacs that deletes all spiders from the game, and replaces them with worms. NoSpiders_Uni is the latest version of the mod, the original zip is only kept for archivation purposes (and oldDark compatibility, for those few that may need it). Once the mod is loaded, starting a new game is highly recommended/required.

this mod, once activated, will slaughter ALL spiders EVERYWHERE, vanilla, SCP, fan missions, it just won't care. a worm will be spawned at their place. pre-placed spider corpses will also be removed.

note: if the level does something scripted with a spider, this mod will break it (no change there, the previously available mods that were removing spiders are not any different) - a good example would be the Eng2 Many sequence, while the spiders will be converted into worms properly, they will not patrol around like the spiders did (as that part is scripted on the spiders, and will die with them).

No, that's not possible. You could of course add the few changes Jocke made to another shock2.gam using shocked.

I can't tell you exactly how to do it (Jocke said what he did.), but here is a beginners tutorial.
And you can always ask in the SS2 mission design forum on ttlg.com.

I've played the entire game with this mod on...
there is one problem... when you reach sim unit 3
a lot of Spiders come out Malick's audio log said that
people will feel "sorrow" and when I reached sim unit 3
the two doors opened up and nothing happends  :biggrin:
that will save a lot of bullets...

the audio log said the it was going to be hard
I thought it was too easy is it possible that
you can delete the audio log or the replace it with
two rumblers or something

I personally think this goes well beyond the scope of this odd mod. But if someone wants to add rumblers, who am I to stop them. I like spiders. In games.

i HATE spiders in games, so this is great news to me

my only question is that when i downloaded the MOD, it featured a game file simply called 'shock2.gam' not 'shock2_nospiders.gam as he suggested - i'm assuming though he's simply made a change and renamed it in advance?

Well, personally I would delete all spiders EXCEPT the ones surrounding Sim Unit 3; provide a nice few moments of terror for people who aren't expecting it.

ss2user: correct, it's been renamed in advance, probably by myself, so it will work flawlessly with the modmanager.

Accoch63: This mod isn't for pussies who don't like spiders. They should just get over it. This mod is for people who have an abnormal fear of spiders and therefor cannot play the game. Leaving a few spiders in would miss the point, as people with a severe arachnophobia couldn't continue the game at this point.

I fear spiders :sweat: this is why this mod is correct for me :thumbwink: If you ask why i fear spiders... :rolleyesgreen: When i was kid my friend did drop a lot of spiders on top of my head  :p

That's not a bad idea, actually. It really doesn't make sense for the doors to open up without anything there, especially after the aforementioned log.

I took the liberty of making a small addition to the Sim unit trap so Malick's log will make sense even with this mod installed. Let me know what you think. ;)
Be advised that this new version replaces ops4.mis in addition to shock2.gam, so be sure to back up both files before installing.

Its very possible to do the "Sorrow" Sim unit 3 thing with only your melee weapon.
But I guess thats just me playing the game too much. =p
