plz help me find this game

Well..i know that sending this message is totally off the topics you posted (any topics actually!!!!) but i really have no alternative, i'm desparate. So...sorry for breaking your b***s by asking you someting really irrelevant but i am doing this only because i believe you might actually help me.

My search isn't for the holy grail (lol) but for the first game i ever played on pc....well...that's...for as long as i can remember!!  and since i believe you know much more than me about pc games maybe you could help me.
.....the thing is i don't know really much about the game so it's going to be really hard to help.

Anyway..the game is a verry old 2D rpg relieced around 1995, close to System shock 2 ...and i say that because i played it on windows '95.
Well..the game's intro begins with the hero beeing on a giant hand and is cast down to an island(i think  ). you start the game wandering near the coast or a river's coast and soon you see a horrible(!) event...a peasant is executed with decapitation and his head rolls into the water and then monster grabs it.
I can remember a few more things from the game like...you could eat the qeens food but if see sees you you are being chased......a huge tower and a bridge that is protected with some kind of lazer....the ability to put a bag similar to yours inside yours so that you can expand your inventory slots....


Well, that's pretty much it!!! i know it isn't much but at leaast the two first are really caracteristic( the giant hand and the decapitation). Maybe the game is not as fun as i remember it to be but it is the first one i played when i was a kid so i really want to find it.......strangebedfellows you are my only solution!!

Oh! and one last clue...you don't handle a group of people...only a guy and you could say that it looks a lot like baldur's gate....but it's older and with only one character.
