Keeping all your files soley on a USB key is an extremely foolish endeavour.  Forget for a moment the possibility of it being lost or stolen, and consider that flash drives are much slower than hard disks and only have a limited number of writes before they break, making running programs from them regularly a poor idea.
USB drives should be primarily used for transferring files from place to place, keeping a copy at both ends.

Oh I'd *love* to post what I had. But exactly what part of losing everything didn't you get?

This part:
I may try to rebuild, or just enough to get by in class.

And sonny, stop acting up on me. I'm not the guy who lost your only backup, mkay?

I'm still of the opinion that Dark-Star had nothing to show for it.

This is the modern equivalent of the 'dog ate my homework' excuse and I hear it far too often.

Dark-Star, if you have nothing more to offer this community than getting bitchy about people calling you on your bullshit, maybe you should just take a hike.

Cheers!

In retrospect, as painful as losing my work was, the idea of linking the tutorial to a class assignment was a major part of persuading me to rebuild. The entire script, the in-progress movie file and nearly all of the pictures have to be redone, but they are being redone. The tutorials ARE back in progress.

I'll be posting a beta of the video or at least the script and pictures used  within the week, and publishing Shocking Knowledge probably a bit sooner. Suffice it to say the first go-round is NOT going to be pretty or terribly long*, but as the clock ticks away I get ever more incentive.

*This is hopefully the first in a series and was only ever supposed to cover the very basics of Shocked operation. Basic texture application (for orientation's sake), how not to get 'lost' in Dromspace, navigation in editor mode, explanation of 3D movement, etc.

Well, so much for sooner. #$%@! That is the last time I use floppy disks for anything at all. Copy, not cut. Copy, not cut...

Fyi I stink at essay-style writing, as my old English teacher can attest to, so please feel free to suggest corrections/suggestions/.

False positive - of sorts. Tinyurl has been abused enough by virus-senders, spammers, and other sort of scum that it's been classified as such.

Also: a screenshot of the in-progress movie. Tried to get part of all the stuff being used.
