use the modmanager to activate the mod. all mods need to be reactivated after patching up.

the location of the original files is of no consequence, as you shouldn't be messing with those - keep all modified files inside your mod folder (translation).

the original files that needs to be translated are under data res, so I should create a folder with similar name under DMM/translationMod folder? but there is a lot of files that I still can't find

67404927c8a39voodoo47

no, you just put the modified files into your modfolder. basically you have the translation folder, and inside, you will have the intrface, fonts, strings etc folders with the actual modified files.

all original files are inside the data folder.

I tried creating a subtitles folder under DMM/transtationMod but it was not working, the subtitles was not appearing in the game then I moved this folder to the main SS2 game folder and now it works that is kinda weird.

And this files I didn't found in the data/res folder so maybe the subtitles folder is something that the game doesn't have by default.

remember, the 80 filepath character limit still applies, so it might be possible that the path to the subtitles is too long.
67404927c8dfa
another thing, the game now uses another font for the subtitles is there any way to change back to the previous one? I think it is using the blueaa instead of mainfont and as I didn't changed this file yet so the characters are in the wrong position the subtitle test is all messed up.

pretty sure same fonts are being used - you need to run all your modified files from the modfolder, subtitles included, I think.
67404927c918c
the font uses the old one when activating the mod, now the mainfont turned black and is very difficult to see X/

so the font is located under DMM/translationMod/fonts and the other ones under DMM/translationMod/intrface

here it is the fonts and the bmp fiiles, the blueaa and metafont I haven't changet the pink squares yet, just these ones

forgot this file, extract this one under SS2 folder so it should be SS2/subtitles, I'm testing with the value rap machine but you can test with other stuff

the other txt files I will retranslate as the original file doesn't have the accents in the characters so I can't test if they are working
67404927c97a3
actually neither this file I have sent to you have the accents, only the subtitle for the value rap thing but  I guess you will only need to test the fonts if are working
67404927c98ac
looks like that the font for everything in the game is black, maybe I did something wrong or the mod tool is not loading correctly the fonts

Shocked is instantly complaining about vcs.sub being broken and some more subs having incorrect headers:
LOG: subtitles> file 'bots.sub' in path 'C:\Users\M\Desktop\test\System Shock 2 - modtest\DMM\
test_translate\subtitles\'> SYNTAX ERROR (line 1): invalid file header
LOG: subtitles> file 'midwife.sub' in path 'C:\Users\M\Desktop\test\System Shock 2 - modtest\D
MM\test_translate\subtitles\'> SYNTAX ERROR (line 1): invalid file header
LOG: subtitles> file 'monkey.sub' in path 'C:\Users\M\Desktop\test\System Shock 2 - modtest\DM
M\test_translate\subtitles\'> SYNTAX ERROR (line 1): invalid file header
LOG: subtitles> file 'ogrunt.sub' in path 'C:\Users\M\Desktop\test\System Shock 2 - modtest\DM
M\test_translate\subtitles\'> SYNTAX ERROR (line 1): invalid file header
the fonts haven't been imported properly, make sure you use the correct commands in the font tool. I'm checking this, one moment.

that is weird hmm... just put the subtitles under SS2/subtitles folder and see if works
67404927c9c82
at least it only works for me this way
67404927c9d99

Jesus, no wonder you're having problems. Even for 8859-1, your font bitmaps are wrong. You're skipping from 0x7F (the split pipe character) to 0xC0 (À). All your extended character codes are off by 64.

well, yes, as mentioned earlier, a mod needs to be active to work. anyway, the fonts don't work properly for me, they are all dark, and bmps won't convert, so there is still work to be done here.
67404927ca592
well the thing is, before updating the game, when messing with the fonts, the only position I got this to work iwas the position that the fonts are, because the original positions where making the characteres appear in the wrong position for example writing ( this is a test, in the game was appearing as !@$%&$@!#%@$ something like this) I will try creating another bmp file with the correct porition and see if it works

67404927ca74a
here's your fonts, refixed and converted properly, bmps included, also with proper mod folder structure.

ok I tested and the font works but they are in a wrong position

maybe is because I have now to modify the files to the correct position from that table that you sent me?
