Ports of classic games

Hey everybody,

I consider this community as a classic gaming community in which most members played Shock 1 and 2 when they were young and fresh (the games, not the people ). As great as these games are, there were and are still other great games back then and some of are also supported by a loyal fanbase creating ports or even remakes for systems today which might be interesting to all of you.

So, why not talk about it and share some information about how the other evergreens are doing today ?

Port: Doomsday
Game(s): id software and Raven Software classic first person shooters, including: Doom/The Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, Heretic (including addon "Shadow of the Serpent Riders"), Hexen (including addon "Deathkings of the Dark Citadel).
Notes: Doomsday is an easy to configure port, one of the best features is the addon feature which gives players the option to import much better graphics, music and even polygon models. Multiplayer is supported.

Port: Skulltag
Game(s): id software and Raven Software classic first person shooters, including: Doom/The Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, Heretic (including addon "Shadow of the Serpent Riders"), Hexen (including addon "Deathkings of the Dark Citadel).
Notes: Skulltag's main focus is set on multiplayer including even new game modes like coop survival. However, higher resolutions are also available. If you are more interested in multiplayer, chose skulltag - otherwise, try Doomsday.

Games(s): Classic point and click adventures, including LucasArts games like Monkey Island 1-3, Indiana Jones 3 and 4, Zak McKracken, Sam & Max, Loom, Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle, and many, many more from various developers. Port: Maniac Mansion Deluxe
Game(s): Maniac Mansion
Notes: Updated and stable version of the first point and click adventure Maniac Mansion
Link: Found no certain homepage, just do some searching. http://www.maniac-mansion-mania.com might be interesting to adventure fans because it offers fan episodes and an editor for your own adventures.

Port: DarkXL
Game(s): Star Wars - Dark Forces
Notes: Still under developement but promising port. Various levels can already be played. Check the forums at http://www.df-21.net/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=7
