SS2 Crash after loading eng1

I recently installed SS2 and installed SS2Tool_v3.4 and have had no problems what so ever. Apart from having to start a new game before loading my saved game. I think I am just over an hour and a bit of game play and have just made it into the engineering section I think, my save folder has a file eng1.MIS. I saved it just when I got inside this section, now when I go to load it whether it is from the main menu or once I have started a new game the game plays for about 4 seconds and then crashes, once it loads if i press ESC and go to the menu straight away it doesn't crash which has led me to believe it is some sound file that is crashing the game but I can't be sure. In any case after looking through the forums at solutions to crashing after loading I can't seem to find a similar problem and the main guides don't seem relevant to me. Maybe I am missing something. This is first time I have ever played SS2 and am enjoying it so far. Thanks for any help someone can provide.

After installing the mod manager and not using any mods it seems to work.
