Freeze Up During Muliplayer Game

So I played through single player without a single crash. Upon starting a multiplayer game, one of my PC's (Dell) will lag, stutter, then become completely unresponsive after about 10 minutes of play. A hard reboot is then all I can do. I uninstalled all mods from both PC's, with no change in behavior.  I really want to give co-op a try. One idea would be to dual boot 2000 and run SS2 in there, I think it would run better on an OS it was designed for. Any suggestions?

Alright, I figured it out. Turns out that all those mods were quite taxing on my low end system. With the CPU running at %90 and a heat sink that was completely plugged with dust, it was just overheating. But at least I got a nice CPU temp monitoring desktop gadget out of this, lol.
