I got a note from someone who has trouble with the localized pyrokinesis's glow effect staying in place around the player after the timer has already finished when one loads a quicksave made during that time.

I'm not ShockED-savvy enough to remove that effect from the savegame - but wasn't this fixed in one iteration of ADaoB? I faintly remember a conversation concerning that topic ... anyway: If this has not been fixed, please do so in the next version. Here's the savegame and the shock2.log:

I hope this question was not already asked a zylon times - is there an ETA for this "new shiny version of ADaoB"? Weeks, months, years?

OK, just read voodoo47's reply on GoG forum:

A rough estimate, perhaps? Am considering using 0.3.0, but it's pointless if I get halfway through med/sci and then a new one appears.

Like last night. I was trying to decide whether to use my original retail SS2 disc or GOG for a long-awaited playthrough. Then I read about incompatibility with SS2Tool, started modding up the retail disc and 8 minutes after I made that decision, v5 was uploaded. /facepalm

confirming the issue with localized pyrokinesis - the only way to fix it is to go through a bulkhead.

Hey, just registered to let you guys know about some bugs with the laser pistol in this mod.

Occasionally when using a charging station the ammo will be set to 9999.  I don't know what causes it, but I was able to reproduce it several times with the mod installed, but never without it.  I also get bizarre results if I fire an overcharged shot and then try to shoot a normal shot during the cooldown.

I hope this is the right place to report these bugs:
1) I do not know if this is a bug in ADaoB or cause by some other mod (like Rebirth, or SHTUP) but in my playthrough the first wrench I could pick up was floating in mid-air:

2) Another bug I noticed is also at the beginning of the game and concerns a console in the room with the beams above (on these beams are some goodies which you can PSI pull).
The "roof" of the console is not solid so you cannot climb on it, as seen on the picture:

3) I noticed some "forgotten" low res textures which look especially ugly compared to the fantastic rework of SHTUP, SHEMP and 400. Here they are:

1) I, too, have this bug. Also I believe only appears with ADaoB.

2) You just taught me something I didn't know! Lol.

the wrench in midair is caused by tacticool, as the new model is a bit smaller. the solution is to delete the world model file - will look up the file name when I get back from work.

I just realized this today - currently all mods are put in the same directory and files are "mixed up" - user and game do not know which file is from which mod. So when updated ADaoB comes out, then how one should proceed with installing it? Simply dumping all the files in the mods folder overwriting everything? Or is there a better method. Ideally previous version of ADaoB should be uninstalled first, but how to do it if it is mixed up with all other mods?

I thought it will be possible to mantle on the top of the console and from there, to mantle on the beam to get access to the goodies which otherwise require PSI pull to acquire. I wonder if in vanilla SS2 the behavior is the same.

AFAIK this mod changes only the two screens that are visible on the picture in the link - revolving tri optium logo and revolving medical sign (and it is probably included in the latest ADaoB, because these two screens are ok in my game, only the screen with the hand is not)

EDIT: ok, I found the original hand screen - the path is Tech/P0025.pcx
I also found the HD version in my DataPermMods\DataPermMods\fam\techw\P0025.gif but I have no idea why it is not displayed on that screen (all other hires textures work).

I will recheck, but I think that I made this screen with the 400 mod enabled.

Oh well... shoulda checked before posting, sorry.

It annoys me too that everything is mixed up. And mod manager is rapidly becoming useless so unless a new one is made, we'll have to make do with this. Although FMSelect was made so I don't see why a new mod manager can't be made.

Kolya outlined one elsewhere, could search for that.

I hope this mess with mods will be somehow sorted out, because current solution seems poor. We really need a new mod manager. I remember the times when SS2MM worked and even recognized which mods are compatible with each other. Good times!

Also, I found the "EXIT HALLWAY" texture - it is in obj.crf/txt16/exithall.pcx and it is not in DataPermMods folder so it was not remade. I must say it sticks out like a sore thumb :)

Do you mean me?  I just made a save with with the laser pistol at 9999 energy, but there doesn't seem to be any option to upload files.  You can reproduce it from a new game pretty easily by picking up the laser pistol in weapons training and recharging it a few times.

This one is most probably what I've experienced and reported in this thread, maybe Lork can confirm ;-). What's worse, sometimes it causes the crashes I mentioned (not always - I've reproduced the bug after the post and sometimes there's just some cool laser pistol beams shooting everywhere when the enemy walks over the artifact, but in other situations a crash - but when it happens, it 100% in the case / save, a re-load won't help).

I also can provide the saved games (I have them sitting on my hard disk waiting) for this issue if you need them.

btw, sharing the shock2. log and crash.dmp (zip, upload to some filehosting, post the link) is always a good idea.

That's original behaviour. Actually it allows you to pick the items from below with a bit of jumping around on the console.

I tried to do that, but was unable to. Perhaps the roof of the console could be "solidified" as this looks like an outright bug to me (unless this part of the console is a hologram :P)
