I would have thought these textures would be included in SHTUP 0.7, oh well ...
Please pay attention.

What if I were to use the current mods which only have the 2.9 version tweaks and then use the newest
ADaoB? Any conflicts?

Shouldn't do any serious harm but you may run into some minor issues, especially on maps you've already visited before upgrading.

TBD which mods do you want to have installed along with ADaob 0.3.0.?

All the levels had to be modified to use the high-res textures, so they had to be put into a mod that changed the .mis files, which SHTUP does not.
Oh, so this does not have anything to do with DDfix? You guys actually DID do that huge amount of work only to end up with a simpler method presenting itself? Talk about irony ...  ;)

One has to thank you nonetheless!

I do (at least I try to) but I always connected the Enhanced Monitor Package to SHTUP. I know that exchanging .mis files is has been none of your business so far, it just seemd logical to me.

Kolya, if you put up a torrent for 0.3.0, I'll kill the seed for 0.2.9 and seed the new one instead.

Yes, we did all that work.  The actual swapping itself wasn't much work thanks to a utility written by Telliamed.
Also on the plus side, I realigned tons of misaligned textures throughout the game, which would have had to be realigned anyway.

Also, ddfix does nothing for lightmap resolution. By substituting higher-res textures from within ShockEd, the visual quality of shadows is greatly improved.

That is a very good point.

Interesting, thanks.
So ... will you consider updating terrain textures or will that never happen, even if DDfix worked flawlessly?

Just did that. The new torrent is seedless at the moment though. I can't seed it myself because I just moved and don't have a working internet connection yet. Please use the file from filefront as a seed. And maybe someone can help Schatten out, please.

NV, ZB: Hat duly tipped in your direction. Good work. :)

Everything is conflictless save Secmod.
You cannot combine Secmod with ADaoB never could and never will. Those are two different gameplays.

Um, you still have ADaoB 029 in that pic? That  torrent is dead, I took it down and replaced it with v030 (see first post).

Yeah, note the red icon. I made the shot before I killed it and added the new one.

I'm running into a slight problem getting ADaoB to work all right with my installation of SS2.

I used SS2Tool, and installed the mod using the mod manager.

But now, while playing the game, something weird is going on: The shotgun DESCRIPTION says it requires a Standard skill of 2, as it should, but it actually requires a skill of 3, like in the standard game.

Why is some stuff getting updated by the mod while other stuff isn't?

(note: I accidentally posted this in the SS2Tool thread by mistake at first. My apologies)
Re: SS2 Straylight ADaoB v0.3.0

There is a red light in the Med/Sci area that appears to have stopped blinking ever since I updated to ADaoB v0.3.0. Right now I notice that this light is either constantly on or constantly off from loading a saved game that was made before the update was applied. However starting a new game doesn't seem to come across this glitch, saving and loading from a new game has no issues with the light. However I have noticed that If I save my game here and then downgrade to ADaoB v0.2.9 the same bug occurs.  When the light is constantly on it is not producing a red glow on the ground and corresponding wall. Also when the light is constantly off the red glow on the ground and the wall are both present and sometimes the light and the glow on the ground and wall are just stuck on yet the glass window reacts as if there really is a red light blinking on and off.

This light is located after the first ghost encounter who has misplaced his keycard and begs for someone to let him out. Enter that door and then turn left and you will see the red light bulb on the left wall.

So in my conclusion this bug only occurs if you resume a saved game that has been saved before updating to a newer or older version of ADaoB whilst being in the Med/Sci area to my knowledge. Since starting a new game solves this glitch I'm not sure if its really a glitch anymore or If my post is even valid. So with each ADaoB update should I have to begin a new game for best results? Has anyone else been able to replicate this or is it all just me?

EDIT:
I have also noticed that using saved games that were created before updating ADaoB has caused the following for me. Loading a game works fine but once in a game if I load again, all the floors and walls turn purply red colour which is very incorrect, or even the game just crashes outright. Crashes can soon occur whilst all the walls are red/purple depending on which room you are in. This problem does not happen if you begin a new game and create fresh saved games.

http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/8973/purplyred.jpg

This problem with the weird coloured textures has only happened to me in Windows Vista. The other glitch with the red light still stands for XP and Vista... for me anyway

EDIT:
I have found other sitings of other red lights not flashing like they should. It is not a problem when starting a new game though. This one is located just as you wake up on the Von Braun, After you climb the first ladder and press the button to enter the next room.

Gee, it's almost as if new versions of ADaOB aren't compatible with old savegames.

And gee it's almost as if it was always this way that using savegames created in older versions may cause various glitches in newer versions.

And it's almost as if the ADaOB description actually said that installing over ADaOB 0.2.7 or earlier (or a vanilla game) would break lots of this.

Try one of the following...

1. Make sure you tick "Getting mod ready" option from SS2Tool prior installing any mods
2. Don't combine various gamesys mods...and if you have to activate the one you want the most as the last
3. if nothing else helps simply pick shock2.gam file from ADaoB and extract it directly to where shock2.exe resides

Don't worry about it. It's mostly funny that you wasted so much of your own time documenting all those glitches when you obviously knew why they were happening.
